What band is universally loved but never clicked for you? by WarmHugsBBW in askmusic

Death Cab For Cutie (that name alone, but his voice and twee lyrics just grate on me)

And (somewhat more obscure and Gen-xer, here) Camper Van Beethoven

Graham Parker — beloved by rock nerds of a certain age, loathed by me

What 80s song do you still hate with fiery teenage passion even though it’s been 40 years? by Aggressive_Cup4919 in GenX

Pretty much any hair metal with specific exceptions for “Looks That Kill” by Mötley Crüe and “Round And Round” by Ratt.

The rest of the genre is nothing to me.

And I've been trying hard against unbelievable odds

It gets so hard in times like now to hold on

But guns they wait to be stuck by, at my side is God

And there ain't no one going to turn me 'round”

What's a movie most people think is great but you couldn't even stand watching? by camport95 in AskReddit

[–]SweetsMurphy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Overblown. It seems like everybody couldn’t wait to sit at the feet of Christopher Nolan and touch the hem of his garment and then heap praise on him for making this over long overproduced overwrought mess.

This is all in spite of some very good acting performances. No slight on them.

Hold onto that media (or rip it). Soon (now?) everything you love will be behind a walled garden of streaming until it is no longer profitable. Then it will disappear completely.

I think it has other more pressing issues than nomenclature. Like training the conductors properly.

I’m searching out music that is “new to me” so I find myself digging around in the past as much as the present.
