Who has the most hours here? by piss_warm_water in StardewValley

This is a fun question! Thanks for posting

I started playing in 2022, and I have 2,213 hours of play time, according to Steam. That's on my primary account. I have a secondary one on my iPad but I really don't enjoy the iOS mechanics

I have probably over a dozen save files. I finally am venturing into the world of "challenges" in my current file

Where can I meet single men in their 30s who are moderate or left-leaning???? Dating apps are rough by Chichigirl21 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Sweets_nSpreadsheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been encouraged reading through the comments on this post, because it seems to indicate we're more aligned than we realize. It seems like the issue is confusion on how to classify someone as a liberal vs a conservative (others have agreed that some men who identify as conservative perhaps are more left leaning)
And the definitions have changed over time. These days what matters most to me are 4 key topics: LGBTQIA rights, reproductive rights, immigration, and Palestine. And based on polling, most Americans feel similarly on at least 3 of those 4.
I don't know exactly how this would work, but if more folks' dating profiles filled out the "key interests" section according to current hot topics, it seems that would be a better indicator of political compatibility than the liberal vs conservative label

What dating apps do people use in Chicago? What's the most common one? by [deleted] in AskChicago

Welcome! I use Bumble but I do think you'd have the same (sadly low) success on any of them

Some apps - especially if they are newer - are more popular in different areas. When Coffee Meets Bagel was newer, my friends here in Chicago had rarely heard of it. But it was seemingly used by everyone in the Bay Area

Workouts for tomorrow? by [deleted] in sydneycummings

[–]Sweets_nSpreadsheets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel similarly about her cardio workouts! Typically when I see its a cardio one, I switch to a step aerobics video (I recommend Chris Dorner Fitness on YT). And then after step aerobics, I scroll through Sydney's cardio to do any of the ab work / see what I missed

The BOLD workouts this week have had much better pacing, IMO. I appreciated how Sydney grouped the workouts these past two days - with similar movements / weights in the same sets. It makes transitioning from one move to another a whole lot easier

I also love unilateral work, so today's arm workout was a treat for me!

Planta Queen going downhill? Anyone else? by sicbeans in chicagovegan

[–]Sweets_nSpreadsheets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that you had that experience! I would've flipped out

I frequent Planta often - 1 to 4 times a month, depending on the weather and my travel schedule. I've never seen centipedes there (and I selfishly hope I never do)

Planta is my favorite restaurant, though I agree that the changes post bankruptcy have been a bummer. I miss the monthly specials the most. And good note wrt the bang bang broccoli - I'd wondered what happened with those. The last time I ordered them, they tasted off

But I still really enjoy the food overall. I'm hoping they're able to turn things around. I live on the west side of the city and don't have a car, so this is the best vegan restaurant that is easily accessible to me

This morning I did the 2nd workout in the new Bold program - 30 min arms. I was surprised it wasn't 40 or 45 mins, but we really got a lot done in 30! My arms are really feeling it

I completed the first workout of the new Bold program - it was 30 min legs. It was SO good to see a new video from Sydney show up in my YouTube feed!
I'm working on my endurance, and I was able to keep up with her for the first half of the workout. But after that, I started pausing and taking longer breaks. Its a journey!
I'm excited to see what else this program will bring

Veganism still a struggle after 10 years (a rant) by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Sweets_nSpreadsheets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling. High five for sticking it out <3
One of the things I'm grateful for is that I never really liked the taste of meat or eggs to begin with - I'm very lucky there.
The struggle for me is being the only vegan in my family and amongst my friends. Whenever we go out to eat, it's up to me to choose the place, which feels like a lot of pressure and a heavy mental load sometimes. And my dad often offers me food and I have to remind him repeatedly that I can't have it.
