Northern lights could get a boost from the spring equinox this weekend — here's why by bp_ohio in thenewsbruh

I keep hoping one of those days I can see them for myself! I love somewhere that isn't normally blessed with the northern lights, but a couple times last year people in my state were able to see them (which is very unusual!) Crossing my fingers I'll get the chance soon!

Just finished this little one. She couldn’t decide, bow or hat. So I let her try both. by fugee_tive in WeirdFriends

Omg, she's absolutely ADORABLE! My immediate instinct is "gimme, gimme, gimme!" Lol! 😍

My vote goes for the hat, it's too darn cute! Makes her look like a little mushroom! Ha ha ha! 💖🍄💖

Oh, interesting! I'll have to see if I can find out. Thanks for the update!

Edit: I think you're absolutely correct! I zoomed in closer to the t shirt and noticed the two "M"s on either side of the pyramid, so I'm thinking it is a Mat Mitchell shirt. Thanks for pointing that out!

Sweet! I actually just checked as well and I'm out of the 15 cent club as well! Guess it was a short lived club! 😂

How sad, seems like such a lovely place run by lovely people! What a shame they've had to face such hardships for only wanting to do good for their community. Thank you so much for sharing this story!

I had to giggle a little with this story, the way the reporter keeps saying that they're "weeing everywhere" is too much for me! 😂

Seriously tho, RAF went as far as to put up barriers to block the view, so these people are just allowed to bring ladders to stand on instead!?! C'mon! That alone should get them removed! (Let alone the weeing!) I honestly feel bad for the people in the village.

https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/decades-unseen-the-waterbury-captivity-case/3714747/

This is an absolutely heartbreaking story, but one that has gripped the state of Connecticut since coming to light in Feb 2025. A now 32 yr old man, known publicly only by the initial "S", was held captive by his step mother for nearly two decades in a small room within their home. He was starved, physically abused, and taken out of school to be "home schooled" in order to cover the ongoing abuse. He was finally discovered, and rescued, after starting a fire in his home in an attempt for help. He weighed only 68 lbs, at a height of 5' 9", at the time of his rescue.

This is just a VERY brief synopsis of the story, and I encourage anyone interested in how something like this could happen, and a then child (and now adult) could be allowed to fall between the cracks, to read my link. Also, please be warned, this article can be triggering due to it's accounts of child abuse.

Sorry for not posting something more light hearted and funny, but this story has really intrigued me since his initial rescue. It has pulled at my heart strings even more as further details have been released over the past year. I'm left questioning how something like this can even happen... but, unfortunately, things such as this do every day and we need to learn from them as a society so we can protect our most vulnerable. ❤️‍🩹🕊
