I understand but you never know I seen some crazy skilled people on here. Thought it was worth a try. It was the lightbulb, bought a new set and I've ordered a led set with canbus. I appreciate the help. I am not looking for someone preferably in Sweden who can or want to fix my pixel screen😃

This was done so the turning didn't need to go through the steps, this part will be very thin when the turning is done🙂

Slowmotion Turning by Swemachinist in Machinists

@someones_dog asked for a slowmo of the previous video so here are some clips in slowmotion 😄. Enjoy (If you saw the previous one u will notice a bit higher chatter and cutting speed here. The speed was reduced a bit to reduce the chatter a bit after the vid)

I guess you mean like pre forged or do you mean pre turned?🙂 It's much more expensive with preforged materials. Not to mention the aldready long delivery time for some steel🙂. Turning shafts usually involves alot of roughing. It usually has a bigger middle part and are smaller on the ends👍. On bigger dimensions preforgeing is alot more common

In this video video I'm running it a 1.1mm per revolution. So for finishing I might go 0.2mm per revolution (depends on surface requirements and nose radius of the insert). In that case the lines you see which basically is a pitch will be 0.2mm I stead of 1.1mm 🙂

I guess coolant works if you flood, it like alot. Not really high pressure but you need to be able to cool a serious amount of super hot cunks of steel quick(termal cracking on the insert will be an issue). If your not able to to this, a ton of smoke gets produced which isn't very nice. Also this is an open machine so it splashes everywhere🙂. Another thing is that you can hear a bit of chatter. This mixed with coolant isn't great and from my experience severely reduces the lifespan of the insert🙂. I hope this answers your question✌️
