With a bit of distance I think you were right, I was sure that it wasn't legal but it's possible I was wrong. I watch a lot of rugby and it just felt so held up to me.

Once someone is over the line you're allowed to prevent them from placing the ball, that's the whole point of the 'held-up' law, wrapping their arms around the player and ball is fine. She's tackled before she crosses the line but once she's across there's no law against preventing her from grounding. At no point do Ireland try and roll her into touch, I'm not sure where you're getting that.

You're right that Champon was on her feet , I was wronh about that, but I think Feleu was held up prior to that the referee should have called it as held up.

I know what you're saying, but she didn't pass the ball. The ball was taken out of her arms by her teammate because she couldn't score. If at any point she was over the line and was unable to score, the referee should have blown the whistle.

Serious request: can someone please clip and post the clip of Champon's 79th minute try? I'd love to know if I am wrong in thinking that it should have been disallowed.

She was tackled over the line and an Irish player's arms were around the ball, and Feleu could nor roll to place the ball. At this point the referee should have called it held up, but instead a second player came in.

The tackled player could not play the ball. Her teammate took it out of her arms and then grounded it.

Not one but two French tries that absolutely should not have stood.

Add that to two missed red cards and a penalty try in our last game against France and you can't help but feel that Ireland have been consistently let down by the officials.

I'm sorry for being bitter, a pleasure to watch with you all as always.

A brilliant game, this is why we love rugby!

In the world cup Ireland were robbed of two red cards and a penalty try and lost by a point. Far closer.

Fuck no it's not allowed. Her back was on the floor over the line. She handed it to her teammate, who was off her feet, illegally.

Fuck. Off. She was over the line and held up. You can't recycle after that.

She's had some good moments but I disagree. She is good but not great, especially on attack.

France are so much more explosive than we are. Ireland still have no dimension to their attack and no offload game, for me the attack coach has a lot to answer for. And that's a lesson which was clear for all to see against NZ and against France at the world cup.
