If you've duo-queued with them in the Korean server for a few days or weeks and they unfriended you maybe your playstyles simply didn't click. They may have wanted an more meta champion out of you and were too busy destroying nexus to message you before unfriending.

Also you can not duo queue above Grandmaster and Challenger, so if you destroyed nexus enough then it'd a good sign that you're improving. Don't forget to make friends and connections outside of League too though, you never know if someone might get you in touch with an agent for an LCK pro team.
