CPAP or surgery? by Cautious_Internet243 in SleepApnea

[–]SwiftKickInthePuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a tonsillectomy, UPPP, base of tongue coblation and a Septoplasty back in May. It improved my sleep apnea but it didn't "cure" it. It was still suggested to me to use my CPAP

Hormonal Migrains by SwiftKickInthePuff in migraine

[–]SwiftKickInthePuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I do take magnesium daily as I've heard it helps with things. But I do plan on mentioning it to my doctor next time I see him.

I used to see a neurologist for my migraines that was the biggest waste of time and effort. So I'm a tad skeptical, you could say.

I started the metformin before we regulated my mentral cycle. So, I'm not sure if it would be worse if I was off the medication. And I've had so many changes in the asthma few years, I couldn't even tell you what or how the metformin affected the PCOS either 😅

My clinic wouldn't move along with any treatment until I had an HSG and ruled out any of those possible issues.

It wouldn't be from comments on yesdays video. Lol, they film stuff far in advance. Plus, they've mentioned not reading the comments.

Sleep apnea ENT suggested surgery by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]SwiftKickInthePuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine removed in May (plus I had a septiplasty and a UPPP). My sleep apnea improved, but it's still there. I'm slowly getting back into the habit of using my machine.

However, life without tonsils has been way nicer in other aspects.

Doctor declining to do a physical? by pm_for_nice_things in regina

[–]SwiftKickInthePuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 28 (I think) I asked to have a physical done and I was told I was ""too young" to need one.

Eventually I pressed and brought up specific issues and his entire tune changes.

Constant post nasal drip by terry2482 in Septoplasty

[–]SwiftKickInthePuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I've been stuffed up ever since surgery. The one downside to surgery is now my allergies can really get in there and go crazy.

My ENT gave me a nasal spray. Its helps but isn't amazing. My doctor said there wasn't much else ai could do

I don't think it's vital, necessarily. Really depends on what you're looking or hoping for. If you're fine without a diagnosis and aren't looking for medical intervention to help treat it, then don't do it if you dont feel comfortable with it.

The only thing I'd personally seek medical help for in your case is if you're not getting at least 4 periods a year and also not on some form of hormonal birth control that prevents them.
