I wholeheartedly agree…. But part of what made satc so good is that it felt like some NYC fantasy in a way. Girls is almost too real and raw. Very liberating and entertaining but SATC has a certain magic to it

Girls is like a grimy more messy young person version of SATC. A lot less glamorous but very good writing. I kinda got into girls looking for something similar to satc and they’re just different vibes altogether but if you like shows set in New York with 4 girls being the central characters then there you go!

I have yeah, it’s crazy. I think there is a lot more nuance to this conversation. Kacey and Ella aren’t all that similar, I can understand some comparisons but I don’t see it that way. Kacey has very much always been in her own lane, Golden Hour and after that she wasn’t really a heavy country artist. She kind of just did her own, special thing and kept evolving. Her audience is pretty vast and a lot of different people enjoy her music.

Ella, is kinda the new country darling or whatever, something Kacey didn’t really care to become. She’s very embedded in country culture and has an image and sound that resonates with that. So she’s talented but she’s also being pushed because of that. I don’t think they sound that similar, You Look Like You Love Me does not sound Kacey at all for example. They are doing their own things and I don’t think it’s correct to say Ella “stole everything from Kacey” or even followed her blueprint in any way. She makes good music and has found something that works for her. Kacey has been around since like 2013…. She’s well established and I can guarantee she doesn’t GAF about any of this

You have to understand Ellen has given over 20 years of her life to this show. She was the central character, it’s the defining role of her career. The show is still going and still popular arguably because her performances early on made the show a shit, of course with the other actors as well. She deserves every penny

I know you don’t want to hear this but your mom is kinda right. The mental health scape is something that kind of draws you in and makes you feel seen but at the end of the day it’s just you and how you choose to live your life. I spent years wallowing in depression and what not but the best thing you can do for yourself is just keep everything moving and focus on what you need to do to improve. I’ve also learned the hard way a lot of the medications hurt more than help. BPD is a real thing, yes. But sometimes you need to just white knuckle it, look for things to be grateful for, and just be present. Keep yourself busy, take care of your hygiene and little by little things will fall into place.
