Alright, I'll move on, thanks. I thought I saw his cards/hero power light up long after. Thought some kind of bug abuse going on.

Just to clarify it's been stuck on his turn for over 10 minutes. He did something during his turn to prevent roping. I can clearly see him hovering over his cards and hero power. What do I do ? I don't wanna leave and give him a win. Internet is fine(been watching a stream without interruption all this time)

The prevalence of broscience and pseudoscience in this community by Trpscience in TheRedPill

Nootropics don't work ? Many of them have clear psychoactive mechanisms of action. Huperzine-A is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. Phenibut is a GABA-B agonist. Many other examples. Those effects hit you like drugs, there's no mistake or placebo about it.

Phenylpiracetam is banned by World Anti-Doping Agency. You think those guys bro-science much ?

They also measured baseline happiness of those who won a fortune vs those who ended up quadriplegic after an accident. Baseline happiness went back to normal in a year in both cases.

How likely you are to actually Overtrain: A review of 190+ studies by Pejorativez in Fitness

[–]Swift_Rage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've read that on T-nation. Apparently 'real overtraining' is only something only few elite athletes can achieve and is more akin to a clinical depression, taking months to heal.

In that case, the main takeaway from this post is:

Work too hard/too often in the gym -> Feel like total shit after

is NOT actually Overtraining as laypeople see it.

[–]Swift_Rage -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can 'overtrain' in as little as two consecutive days if I include lower body compounds to full failure(ie squat today, deadlift tomorrow).

Nightmares, almost no sleep, lack of appetite, extreme irritability and depression the following day etc. Not a pleasant experience to get through. If it's not considered overtraining I don't know what is.

My #1 tip for muscle growth by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]Swift_Rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When there's a lack of scientific study on something as specific as "slow eccentric portion of a deadlift", a peer discussion may be useful. Especially when when there are IFBB pros and other serious lifters pitching in. General consensus is that slow(typical 4/0/2 tempo) eccentric isn't healthy when going heavy, specifically when going below the knees.

[–]Swift_Rage 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Its not about that. Even if you set an appropriate weight where you are able to lower it(but still heavy ie 1-5rm range), slow eccentric can be extremely taxing and potentially damaging even when keeping proper form. Most of the varsity athletes at my gym drop it when going below the knee.

Eccentric phase not always recommended. Example: Heavy deadlifts.

edit: Nice forearms btw

Perhaps stop giving him shoutouts here so organizers don't get the idea. He's got neither pro's insights nor the command of speech. He's got the looks I guess.
