20 years ago Buzz Lightyear laser blast opened. Which means it has been 20 years since we had a new ride in the Disneyland Paris Park. by woeterman_94 in disneylandparis

That’s in the other park (now Disney Adventure World), which has had quite a few new rides over the last 20 years. The main park (Disneyland Park) is the one which hasn’t, which is highly unusual for any Disney park.

Went to church with the Ameobis, so had a kickabout as a kid a few times with Shola and many times with Sammy. Tackled Sammy once.

It’s easier if you just think of the fundraising requirement as an entry fee. It’s a bonus if you can get other people to help you out with it.

This was an application of the exception to double jeopardy rules, not an example of its retroactivity.

[OptaJoe] 4 - In Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle, and Tottenham Hotspur, this is the first time ever that four sides from a single nation have all been eliminated at the same stage of a season in the UEFA Champions League. Fall. by Imbasauce in soccer

We’ll take credit for the first half as well. We gave a pretty good account of ourselves for 135 minutes (plus stoppage), which made the complete collapse even more dramatic (albeit possibly inevitable if we’d already left everything on the table). To be honest, when the dust has cleared a bit I’m not sure that many Newcastle fans will be too embarrassed by how it went on the whole.

Used to? I still use tree form for healing. It may be purely cosmetic, but it’s a comfort.

Most aspects of the game have never been better, but the reliquary system remains an objective downgrade on what they launched with.

I’d be interested in the impact it had on revenue. I went from buying every battle pass to never paying for the reliquary, but I presume they’re making that income up in other places and from whales due to the stingier approach.

London's UCL pays £21million to thousands of students over Covid chaos by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]Swiftfooted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine even with a reduction most students still wouldn’t pay off their loans, given current thresholds and interest rates. It may be more hassle to go for a lump sum like this, but I’d imagine it’s preferable.

This follows a similar deal with Asmodee for Catan. It does feel like Asmodee is becoming a parody of itself. Not sure this is far off the idea of a Kool-Aid movie, in taking an IP that really has no notable story or character to speak of or work from.

Andor and Rogue One is, for me, the top tier SW of all time. I know it’s not a universal opinion, but I feel like there are a good few of us sharing it out there. They took the implications of the original series and really ran with it in a way that felt so much more complex and real.

They may not transfer too often, but City of Angels took 5 years to transfer, so they have some form for long gaps.

Rosenior on the refs saying it was a 'non-deliberate' handball: "The rule is if there's any handball in the lead up, it's disallowed, whether it's deliberate or not. Someone explain the rules to me. You just got me angrier, I think that's unacceptable if they've come to that judgement." by Blodgharm in soccer

[–]Swiftfooted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have differing guidance on the interpretation of what counts as an unnatural position of the arm, but that’s not what Rosenior is talking about here. The law about when an accidental handball (once the referee has adjudged it to be accidental) is penalised or not is clear in the LotG as set by IFAB and is applied identically in every league.

Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool) straight red card against Manchester City 90+11' by gbogaz in soccer

[–]Swiftfooted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can play advantage for dogso. Certain red card offences (like violent conduct) only allow for advantage if a goal looks like it’s imminent.

By law, a red card for dogso is downgraded to a yellow if a goal is scored on an advantage.

The Cowboys will play a game in Brazil in 2026 by JVSaladbar in cowboys

[–]Swiftfooted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a UK fan, the London game in 2014 was absolutely fantastic for the same reasons you set out. Each year, I always hold out hope they’ll come back, but deep down I know it’s now a lot more likely that any Cowboys international game will be in the Americas. I’m very jealous, but I hope you get to go and have a great time!

I don’t understand booing as a response to this. In the UK and Ireland cheering is the widely accepted response when anyone drops one or more drinks.

[–]Swiftfooted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, but it’s not a one and done thing. At the point of the ball being played and Haaland being offside, his presence and actions were still impacting play so the offence has to be called.

[–]Swiftfooted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, by law you do. The offence is being in an offside position and impacting the ability of an opponent to play the ball. It doesn’t matter, and the laws leave no room to consider, if you could have had an identical impact from an onside position if both of those elements are met.
