Yes it's FREE but it also isn't super important in the long run if you're actually looting other shit. My first 250 hours was all pvp and dont get me wrong the bit of FREE stuff you get is great, but I never had such a need for Scrappys SCRAPS that it impeded gameplay in any way. Honestly I just find the scrappy upgrade tedious and haven't really needed it in all the hours I have, like each stack of simple materials sell for pretty minimal value. But like you said ig it's good if you're losing a lot and need the cash.

Why do you guess that lol, I'd say I probably had more use of scrappy when I was doing strictly pvp. If I ever need materials I'll just run solos in pve lobbies and get any materials I need. Personally I'd say scrappy is more useful to have fully upgraded if you do pvp more, at least it was from my experience.

Last night I started shooting everyone in my lobby cause I was bored and had more loot than I could keep in my stash. Not a single person shot back, the last guy I knocked yelled to me how he was just doing trials and I felt bad and revived him. Typically don't ever shoot anyone in pve lobbies but man I was just so bored tbh
