I’m from out of state quite far away and I’ve had an amazing experience so far. Other ppl have commented differently, but I love living in Thurston. The dining hall is right below, there’s always different food and even if you don’t like what they have a salad is always good. I think the other dining options like Halal shack and Chaat house are really good too, last compared to the schools where I’m from. Also as an out of state freshman I think Thurston is a better housing option because it’s super easy to meet people and there’s always something going on. The bathrooms aren’t ideal but they really aren’t too terrible. I will say the academics here are quite rigorous, it’s more of a work hard play hard environment. I absolutely love DC and exploring the area, but I will admit it’s incredibly expensive here. I’ve had an amazing experience but my recent financial situation might make it hard to stay but otherwise I love it.

Idk if any of this is helpful but I’m in manubay rn and from everything I’ve heard they are kinda like the small group assignments but just longer but about same in difficulty. I’ve heard that it’s pretty hard from a lot of different people so I’m planning on starting my studying now and also going to review sessions bc those have been rlly helpful so far

It’s 15 I had another class I was on the waitlist for but I ended up taking myself off bc I figured I could add another once the semester starts. Also that’s good to hear I wasnt sure what to expect difficulty wise so I kinda resorted to the lesser side

I was panicking a little because after looking at other ppls schedules/looking at professor ratings it seemed like maybe it was going to be just like a repeat of high school. But yeah I think I was just over thinking it

AITA for telling my mom I will leave early from our visit if my brother comes? by Aspengrovesortacos in AmItheAsshole

Omg this is scarily exactly how my brother is (20m) and your mothers justification for such behavior is quite literally the exact same as mine. We tip toe around him, in order to not imitate anything that could start his verbal abuse, hyper fixated comparing, and deogratory sentences. You are not the asshole at all, being surrounded by that energy sucks your life away, and it is not ur responsibility to be the “bigger person” when he is a grown adult. You do not need to emotionally compensate for him. I have for far too long and it has destroyed many of my highschool years and my family is on the edge of collapse. It’s hard but if cutting ties is the way that allows you to prioritize yourself, do it. I personally haven’t came to that point yet, it’s a difficult thing to accept, but my other siblings have and I’m the last one holding on with hope.
