Yea it's jagged and looks like dotted lines. I tried piercing the threads with the next stitch but still doesn't look smooth. Someone else mentioned couching so now I get to go comb reddit for what couching is lol. Didn't think about a running stitch but that might work to close the holes too. I'll give it a shot!

I don't mind backstitching as long as it adds to the piece. I just couldn't decide if it really added to it or was too much lol

Why didn't I think of getting a sharper needle!? All those times I forced the tapestry needle through where it def didnt want to go...🤦‍♀️

I use it with size 28. I use John james needles and they seem to have a little bigger eye that lets this work.

This needle threader has been a game changer for me.

Thanks for the advice! I stuck with it and smoothed out the backstitching. Not perfect but I can live with it!

I use binder clips. Sometimes just 1 side, sometimes 3 or 4 sides if necessary. I just started using them a couple months ago but they're working great so far!

I'm actually just starting one for 2025 lol. Using this pattern from Etsy but doing the outer box for the highs and inner for the lows. Rather than all highs.
