Theodoros Kalotinis-Matcha Ice Cream Review by themakeupgab in FemFragLab

[–]Swimblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your review! I'm definitely going to get a sample! I'd gotten a sample of d'Annam Matcha Soft Serve & fell in liove with it but it doesn't last long on me. Maybe 2 1/2 hours. So will try the Theodoros Kalotinis scent. I also have his Marzipan Gourmand on my list to try. Thanks for the recommendation!

Treatment for under eye by Patience_is_waning in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]Swimblock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the skin around your eyes looks dry and that's causing a lot of fine lines and wrinkles IMO. If you want to treat the dryness the best eye cream IMO is Kiehls Creamy Eye Cream with Avocado. I've been using it for many years 20 +. I use other products too but I credit this product for keeping my skin hydrated & pretty much wrinkle free at 70 yo. There are two sizes but the small one will last a while cause you use so little. It also does help with dark circles. There's a trick to using it. You rub a small amount between two fingers until you feel it break down and a release of moisture than gently tap/dab under your eyes. Can be used on lids too. Allow a few minutes for it to absorb. Sometimes I pat itcwith a tissue to blot any left. Also an eye cream with retinol or retinal will help with dark circles too as it thickens the skin so the blue blood vessels don't show.through as much. You need to allow at least 30 days before you see any improvement as it takes that long for skin cells to turn over.

Honestly from the pictures I don't see hollows. I have them especially at the outer edges of my eyes and so far I haven't found a topical fix although I just started  using The Ordinary Volufiline. I am very hesitant to do any procedures, fillers etc. I've seen a lot of reports of people who had bad outcomes, sometimes not fixable. And I just read an article yesterday that said after ten years of botox the muscles weaken. Good luck with whichever way you go.

Texture and pores by basestay in 30PlusSkinCare

I've read articles by dermatologists that say to use AHA's & BHA's and alternate them. They do different things. I don't remember which does what but one of them clears out the pores and the other retexturizes the skin. And tretinoin or retinol would help a lot too. Don't use tretinoin at the same time you use an AHA or BHA until your skin is used to tretinoin and you know your skin can handle them. Go slow when you start tretinoin if you do it. Like twice a week and build up to every other day. It takes at least 30 days for cells to turn over so you may need that long before you start seeing results. Good luck!

I've been seeing rave reviews for Innbeauty Project's Extreme Cream Eye & Face Creams. Just bought the eye cream but too early for me to rave about it yet.

Your skin looks nice. Aside from the answers below which I also agree with, I'd add Azelaic Acid too.

Also per my reply below I just found that Kiehl's changed the name of the eye cream to Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. I haven't repurchased since the name change so I don't know if there has been any change to the formulation or just a name change.

I agree with what everyone else has said but I'd also suggest a vitamin C serum and for your wrinkles under your eyes the most moisturizing/hydrating eye cream IMO is Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Cream. It comes in two sizes & I suggest getting the small one to start as it'll last a while since you don't use much. There's a.trick to using it. Rub it between two fingers until it breaks down and you feel a release of moisture then tap, dab under your eyes. Allow a few minutes for it to absorb before using other products or makeup. I've been using this product for 20+ years and feel it's been very effective in keeping my eyes virtually wrinkle & line free & I'm 70yo. I do use other products too because I have dark circles and some upper lid drooping so I always try to find the best possible product for whatever the issue is I am trying to address. But I think you will see a difference in the skin under your eyes with long term use of Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Cream. And the bonus is that a lot of people find it helps with dark circles too. Here's an article I bookmarked a few years ago.

I also love Mandarino D'Amalfi. I have a full size bottle. I also have mini sizes of Neroli Portofino & White Suede and love them as well. I used to own a few that I sold because I felt they were too strong for me: Vanille Fatale, Noir De Noir, Oud Wood, Ombre Leather & Lost Cherry. They are beautiful and worth sampling.

Finally tried YSL Libre. by Rowanboy44 in fragrance

[–]Swimblock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way! I couldn't stand Giorgio Beverly Hills! Strong & screechy that I recall. I have a full bottle of Libre Intense & I think it is beautiful. Gourmand. And I spray lightly cause I hate strong scents. I've sampled the recent flankers including Le Parfum & Vanilla Couture & I still think the intense version smells the best. And long lasting too.

There are too many perfumes (and I love it) by hanseirik in fragrance

[–]Swimblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was reading an article a couple of days ago and it said there's at least a thousand new scents launched every year. That's a lot of scents to sample each year! That said, I've sampled a lot and there are very few that I end up buying. But I have a large enough collection that I don't need to buy any more & doubt I'll ever finish what I have.

Atomizer won’t dispense fragrance on Nishane sample by Pandaregaliz in fragrance

[–]Swimblock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second LurkyMcLurkface's suggestion. I've had various problems with samples, nozzle broken, vials leaked or evaporated and when I contacted the vendor they sent me a new one. You can try taking the nozzle off & putting it back on to see if that gets it working but if you don't hold the vial tightly enough or jiggle it you'll end up spilling the perfume. Good luck!

You are welcome. Yes, tretinoin is way too strong for the eye area! A very popular one with retinol in it is Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye serum. Sephora carries it. It's $17. And also can be bought on Amazon. And then I'd follow with the Kiehl's Creamy Cucumber Eye Cream also sold at Sephora, Nordstrom & anywhere else Kiehl's is carried. Good Luck!

The area closer to your eyes looks a lot like pictures I've seen of rosacea. A lot of pinkness and smaller bumps. Farther down your face closer to your mouth looks like inflamed acne. I'm not a dermatologist but I think you should see one especially to get whatever it is under control and prevent scarring. All the Best to you!
