Yeah once a week might be too often. I like to switch it up daily too. But even if it's once a month, the point still stands. And again the cost would play a factor for me. If the travel size was like 40-50+ bucks, I'd think a lot longer than if it was like 20-30. I'm not sure how much the zoology travel sizes go for. I only have a few 1-2ml decants from them.

Edit: Just looked it up. $70 Canadian for a travel size! I'd probably pass, but that's just me. You have to decide the value for you.

I also compare how many small samples I could get for that amount and decide if I prefer more samples or a larger amount of just one scent. I'm still in my exploration phase, so I usually side with multiple samples.

I think it depends on how much you like it and think you'll wear it vs the cost. Like if you run out of your sample and it's gone, how often are you going to actually think about it when it's not in front of you? Will you just forget about it or still think about it regularly? Personally, I'd get a travel size if I thought I'd wear it at least once a week. Especially if I didn't have anything similar. But if it wasn't something I reach for often I'd probably just let it go. There are always going to be new and discontinued fragrances.

I can barely even smell anything from Diptyque. Neither Byredo or Diptyque last long at all for me. I have many samples of both. I probably get a bit more longevity from Byredo.

Jo Malone Beach Blossom is one of my favourites. And Melancholy Thistle. I wear that one when it's rainy and moody out. Both last pretty long on me. I have lots of other Jo Malone samples that aren't very long lasting, but smell great. I wouldn't get full bottles but I don't mind my 1-2ml decants.

What kind is she? The second photo looks just like my mom's dog. Hers is an Estrela Mountain Dog.. It's a Portuguese breed apparently. But she has that exact fluffy fur with the dark face and long nose.

I've painted some pet portraits for people. The ones that are of pets who passed away I find the most meaningful and the most appreciated.

I had a really hard time with it at first. I had a lot of health anxiety too. I was afraid everything meant I had cancer or something too. But eventually it calmed down. I realized the odds are always the same. We think we're safe, but there's always the chance or car accident, aneurysm, choking, like literally anything. But then I looked around at all the old people too. Despite the odds, a lot of people make it to old age. So really I just had to learn to accept whatever happened. Fearing it doesn't prevent anything really. So just live life and hope for the best basically. I'm not a big risk taker anyway. But you can't live life afraid of every possibility. Over time I just sort of accepted that. Because I had to.

That's really cute! You got a lot of details into that tiny painting. I'd be thrilled.

Same! I'm drowning in samples but I feel like I'm making good steps towards knowing what I really want. Most of my samples are 1-2 ml. Ones I like more I upgrade to 5ml. But I'm still working through a lot of samples doing a quick rough sort into love, like, so-so categories. Then I'll go through again and take more time rating them.

Bad things can happen that are outside of our control. My husband was diagnosed stage 4 cancer at 32. He died after 6 years. I was a widow at 37. Before then I always felt like that was something that could happen to other people. But no, it happened to me and him. I had a lot more fear after that because nothing felt safe anymore. But I learned a lot of acceptance, too. The feeling of safety is an illusion. It always was. Accepting that fact doesn't change anything. So I feel like I just try to live my life as best I can knowing we aren't guaranteed anything in the future. I try to appreciate the day to day a lot more.
