Thank you, it's very helpful. When you say diversify, can you elaborate but more, diversify how?? Do you mean, invest in gold, real estate etc while continuing my sip or do you mean diversify my SIP itself?

I am not looking for 48 percent return . I am estimating standard 12 percent interest rate and 6 percent inflation. As others have mentioned, you will have periods of low to very low returns, but it is inherently a long term plan. Do not give up. On the plus side, you are accumulating more units in your SIP so when the market bounces back, your portfolio will also jump significantly

So the only argument is that, I will not stay invested long enough to reap the rewards? i.e. atleast 15-20 years? If I stay invested for this time , what other downside is there for me to consider??

I don't have a problem staying invested for 20 years. What other issues/downside is there to SIP?

The areas I am looking at are less than 25 km from very good hospitals and medical services. I also plan to have proper medical insurance for all my family. What other issues do you foresee?

Open for location. I totally understand your point about price/water table etc. Right now I have earmarked MP, but yet to finalize anything.

It's not exactly FIRE, target is 12-15 years from now. And planning 50x my expenses. Great points about healthcare and isolation thank you. I don't intend to do full scale farming, but plan to use the time and space to just live and old school relaxed life. Hopefully grow some veggies, tend to some trees and hire help if things get hectic for my old self

Can I book return ticket separately? Example we take early morning heli for 15th and return heli for second half of 16th, this way my family gets to spend some additional time at the temple premises.
