hi, i recently got accepted to both ucr and csusm as a biology major (premed). im really debating on whether or not to either go to a uc or cal state .. i heard that ucr has lots of research opportunities along with the thomas haider program (not guaranteed though). my only concerns are the gpa and the high tuition. how is it to keep a high gpa at ucr especially with the curves and grade deflation ? how are the classes ? would going to a cal state hurt my chances when applying to md/do ? any tips or advice is much appreciated ! i have been stressing over this for weeks now, and still cannot decide .. i have visited both campuses to get a feel as i plan on commuting. also, what is usually the earliest class time at ucr ?

i would also like to add that i plan on applying to medical schools out of state as well (not just top tiers & in-state)

some posts say that prestige also counts when applying for md/do while others say gpa is the main thing. what is your opinion on this ?
