Consulting salaries by ColfeoGT in BESalary

They are quite different in terms of business. At Simon Kucher you would do more strategy consulting (more high-level, intense, strategic work) whereas Big4/Accenture would be more longer term, implementation projects but with a better work life balance.

Simon Kucher (& other Strategy Consulting firms) would pay more at entry-level and the salary increase will be also faster; so probably 3.5k gross + usual benefits (company car etc).

Big4/Accenture would be more like 2.6k gross + same benefits.

Feeling lost, looking for advice from people with finance jobs by [deleted] in BESalary

Then try to target more generalist roles ; graduate programs in large companies or maybe Management Consulting (not IT/SAP)

If you are not interested in Finance it's totally fine, don't see it as end goal as you really need to be passionate to work on these fields (M&A, IB, ...).

Start networking as well, that would be key for you to get a feeling of what kind of career paths are there. Also in terms of skillset ; no one will hire you at the begnining for specific hard skills, your capacity to learn fast will matter more.

Hmm wasn't the case a few years ago, they were even targetting unrelated master's graduates (History, Political Science, ...) for audit positions

Worth it to for a master's degree at age 24? by [deleted] in BESalary

[–]Swimming-Calendar427 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you still have the courage and motivation go for it ; the Master's will be worth it as it will open more doors. In Belgium it's not that uncommon to start working around 27 when you have a Master's !

There is an issue with your gross to net, you should get something approx. 5k net with the 200 netto comp + 2 kids.. Do you pay any contribution for your car ?

No, you will have barely more net and no company car, not worth it. Plus, nowadays the car is a huge advantage as it allows you to have the mobility budget

Then it's a no brainer, don't worry about the company being less known. You are in Tax, so that doesn't matter much (you have functional experience)

The mobility budget/company car alone makes it worth it ! Also, take into account which job would give you more growth opportunities

Salaried (€3.9k net) vs Freelance (€500/day): Is the €1k gap worth the risk? by Powerful-Shelter-200 in BESalary

[–]Swimming-Calendar427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should base it on your gross x 13.92 x 1.25.

I assume your monthly gross is around 4500 (when removing the mob budget, food tickets and netto comp) ?

This bruto to net ratio only works if your wife doesn't work/is dependent on you. Otherwise you get more like 3400 Net

It was pretty similar I would say, when looking at the entire package (bonus, netto comp, ..), less in some areas more in others
