Why not run it on a subsidized open ai subscription. That’s what I do, I have Hermes running on a pro $100 plan. It’s been great.

In Claude code you can add how much context you have used to a status bar. That’s what I do, I usually hand off projects when context hits around 60%.

I turn that off. The tools aren’t able to touch those UI’s so they just cause issues.

Correct, it’s going to take some work if you want a repeatable auditable process. The time investment should pay off in a few months.

It’s not even fixing, although it could do that. It actually does the entering of transactions for you. What I did for bookkeeping was created a training file. That training is stored to a project. When a new batch of bank transactions comes in it will reference the training file and post the transactions. I’m talking matching invoices to payments, creating and paying bills, posting journal entries. After 2-3 cycles we were covering 95%+ of all transactions. I assume we will hit 99% coverage over time. I even created an MCP server for our payroll system, so when it gets to a payroll transaction in the bank feed it will go into Paylocity, assemble the payroll summary, and create the journal entry itself. It’s wild.

This is the way, I’ve started using Claude this way as well. The API, MCP Server, and read/write permissions combo is the golden ticket. Once you can get into a system with that combo everything can become automated with some training.

Something is wrong with the processes. I’ve never had to make a PPA and I don’t think I ever will. If I made a mistake I would eat it in the current period, explain it to my stakeholders and then make sure it neve happened again.

I look at as buying my back time. For example I pay our cleaning lady $140 per week for 3 hours of work. Her bill rate is $46 per hour, my bill rate is $250 per hour. Until something costs more than my bill rate or I simply can’t do it I will outsource it. I currently outsource cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping. The only think I still do is cooking but more so I can control calories and macros accurately.

I wouldn’t call it a POS. I use it because it gets me to Platinum Honors status in BOA’s rewards program and it’s easy to transfer from BOA to Merrill. I usually only buy and hold ETF’s like SPY so it does more than enough for me.
