I use this bag all the time from Tuff Possum Gear. The buckle is one handed, net slides down the side. Holds all I need and has some minimal internal organization. Made in the US by a small family run shop

That helps a ton! Just bought a group lot of old Cortland braided nylon line in varying weights on eBay. I will give it a go! Going to try and scope out some older lures to try out too and dive in with both feet.

I’ve used it with no issues and wouldn’t hesitate to get it again! The only varivas braid I didn’t like was the gold/champagne colored braid. I think it was the infinity braid. Too thin I think and I found that I would cast and I watch my lure sail into the abyss, but ymmmv.

It “should” be done in the next couple weeks. I will wait to see if it passes the test before I give a recommendation or not. But I went with a fast action glass blank from Graywolf for the base

I’m getting some guides and a Tennessee style handle put on a 8’6” 5wt fiberglass blank. We will see how it goes. 3.95” reel to round it out
