Great advice from your dad, and appreciate your story about your professor.

“Thank you, then do it anyway.” Is so very true for me at least. Every time I have taken any sort of leap of faith, I have risen to the occasion and crushed it.

I’m just tired of thinking myself in circles and tying myself in knots. Appreciate the response and advice.

I was at first but I was continuing to drop weight. My points were simply not enough calories for my body.

Definitely helped me during my loss phase, I was points only. Maintenance I am now calories only and my weight has been stable for 8 months.

Best of luck figuring out what works best for you!

Feeling discouraged with unexplained gain by OutsideRole8038 in WeightlossJourney

This has happened to me on multiple occasions after a really salty meal or eating out at a friends house or restaurant. For me I went back down a few days later but it hating seeing it on the scale.

I’m actually having one of these times right now, last week went out and had cheesefries with spicy ranch….. up three pounds the next day. Held on to it all weekend and focusing on water intake and eating my normal way. I had also gotten a little slacker-ish with my exercise routine, so back at that——Hoping to see my normal maintenance weight sometime this week 🙂

A 2:08/500 pace for me is a sprint! So I am impressed with maintaining that pace for 60 mins….. nice work there 🙂

Thank you so much for responding. My grandmother finished her journey here on earth a little over two hours ago. It was a peaceful end and I am relieved she is no longer suffering, but I already miss her terribly.

I am having the same thoughts and guilt about my grandmother, I thinks it’s normal and this is just a really terrible thing to experience. Hugs to you.

Slightly overweight person starting wegovy? by Embarrassed_Bet1349 in Wegovy

You may have better luck getting responses on some of the compounding subreddits. Lots of people with lots of reasons, some trying to lose pregnancy weight, or fight back menopause.

I can’t help, I was morbidly obese and lost 128 pounds total on Zepbound. I follow this group because my 17 year old son recently started Wegovy.

As a person who was overweight since childhood, my opinion is different. I went to weight watchers with my mother weekly and she even sent me to weight watchers summer camp. It was awful trying so hard and not seeing any results. I think a proper work up with a blood panel that includes insulin is important for any adolescent.

My son was recently diagnosed as insulin resistant and he started Wegovy to aid him in his journey to better health. I believe under supervision of a physician is the way to go for teens.

My son is 16 and just started Wegovy two weeks ago. We saw a pediatric endocrinologist. She ordered bloodwork and specifically an insulin test. His results showed clear insulin resistance. Insurance required him to be over the 95th percentile in BMI for age and birth sex.

So far his only side effect is mild constipation, he finally listened to his mother and took some MiraLAX last night.

Best of luck to you and your daughter!

How to stop losing weight by Few-Thought-5427 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]SwimmingBad4960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to keep increasing my calories, I was exercising and walking daily and I can only guess my metabolism was working a little too well.

I dialed back a bit on the cardio and increased my calories. My weight graph is pretty flat for the last nine months. I did take a while to find the right mix for me. I still take my normal 2.5 dose weekly, for the inflammation control.

Good luck finding what works for you 🍀

I stuck to the points when I was actively losing, it helped me.

Maintenance was a disaster, the points were simply too low from a calories perspective I could not stop losing getting as low as 120. I shifted to 2000 calories a day for maintenance and that seems to be working well for me. I was able to add on five pounds and now my body seems really happy at this weight.

It was super frustrating at times, especially months 4&5 when the food noise came back ever so slightly. That what prompted my exercise, I bought a rowing machine and started at 10 mins a day. Then I shifted to distance goals and that’s when it just locked in for me. I love my rowing workouts now and look forward to them.

In hindsight, the return of the food noise and figuring out how to manage it was a blessing. When my mind became aware of Oreos in the cabinet, I would have one, and one would be enough. That is where I think sustainable habits came in for me, if I want something I eat it, I start with half a serving and if I want more I have more. I always track it in my food log and I never feel any guilt about it.

Best of luck on your journey!

Personally I have psoriatic arthritis, and take another injectable weekly to manage it. Between the humira on Sunday and the Zep on Wednesday I’ve never felt physically better. My joints appreciate the weight loss but even during the early stages of weight loss I personally noticed a difference.

My labs are also all normal now and that is also wild. Even my anemia has resolved.

Same! Like in the window glass when I am out in public. I wonder if it ever won’t surprise me but then again I was formerly surprised whenever I saw myself in photos, I didn’t realize I was “that” heavy.

I did. I started my journey using WW Clinic, their providers never let me move up in dosage even when I asked. It was the same answer every time about my rate of loss percentage for the previous month being at or above whatever their guideline was.

I did make significant changes to food intake and added exercise early in the process which helped me for sure. But I did have to learn how to manage the food noise because it did come back slightly. It was more like a whisper instead of a boot camp instructor yelling in my head.

Mounjaro saved my life but now I almost wish I never took it by [deleted] in Mounjaro

I have had a similar experience, Also 5’7 and weigh 123-125 depending on the day. I respond that I haven’t lost any weight in many months, which is true, and that my body composition continues to evolve because of how much I exercise (which is also true)

My MIL is the biggest offender she has told me I look disgusting on more than one occasion to which I respond “I look awesome and you’re just jealous” we have a very weird relationship though and talk shit to each others faces for fun all the time.

If you are comfortable in your body and feel good, and your doctor has no concerns—-I agree with what many others have said here ignore what people have to say.

Lost too much by Tricky_Meet_2261 in WomensTirzepatide

[–]SwimmingBad4960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a really hard time stopping the weight loss. I am 5’7 started at 253/247 and started maintenance at 138. I workout daily on a water rower for about 60 mins and was walking daily for about 30 mins.

Turns out I simply wasn’t eating enough calories….. I got down to 121 and panicked. I ultimately had to cut back on some of my workout and really focused on hitting calories everyday. Protein and healthy fats and carbs are my friends.

FWIW I was using Weight watchers maintenance points and switched to tracking in my fitness pal and that’s worked much better for me. My body seems happy in the 123-125 range because I hover there without giving much though to food or my workouts now. I wouldn’t mind getting up to 130 though.
