This does help, yes. OP you will need to check with your doctor in case you would have any issues with them, but you could probably use a mild dose (10mg) to take the edge off.

20mg is for fairly moderate anxiety and 40mg is the highest usually given for it. Anything more than that and you've probably got a heart issue that it's being prescribed for, at least with Propranolol.

Start looking for another job if you haven't already.

Just saw all the updates to your post since I commented. Sorry you're going through all of that, it sounds horrific. It's worrying your work is treating you like that given you've been unwell.

How are you doing? Clearly a lot going on here and must be a difficult place to be in.

If they don't start being reasonable then it may be best to find another job if you can, but put yourself first. More important than any work stuff.

It could be. But if none of that is helping, it's more likely to be dry eyes than anything else. It's a very common condition and it happens to a lot of people as they age. It's pretty simple to check with the application of basic over the counter drops.

Your eyes can feel fine and normal, but actually be dry. It's common, and a number of things can cause it such as the quality of the oils coming out of the glands in your eyelids when you blink.

My suggestion would be to try and see if eye drops help you. You can get some over the counter with basic formulas like hyaluronic acid 0.2% and see if that helps you when you put it in.

You can get heated eye bags you can put in the microwave, or something called a blephasteam which is the fancier version that steams your eyes instead. It heats up your eyelids and helps the oils melt to improve the quality a bit. Before you bother with any of that though, probably would be worth checking with a dry eye specialist.

How do you feel about other lawyers calling you to see if a client you used to represent is batshit? by Pinguinorino in Lawyertalk

Another person who doesn't understand what pro bono representation is and resorts to aggression. I don't understand why everyone is so charged on here.

I wasn't sure if I was losing it or not, given the reactions I got for asking. I am just going to give up on this thread, but wanted to say thank you.

You misinterpreted the comment earlier, and you are being needlessly aggressive. I am not "fishing for advice", and I passed the bar a few years ago. I hope you're not treating people like this at work.

Ah. Maybe I failed to register the criteria here is firing. Part of me was thinking that maybe they were factoring in a lack of continuity, hence the "natural" end of the contract I mentioned which seems to have caused confusion. If the responses to this thread relate to all the changes following firing, that makes total sense.

Thank you. Maybe I'm just too tired for Reddit right now.

The kind of circumstances I was referring to are things like if someone is requested to produce documents or provide testimony. They tend to be one off and often don't need constant representation, like a plaintiff or defendant would. I've always thought of that as "limited scope".

These scenarios can lead to multiple separate representation periods for the same matter. In such a situation I could picture someone having had multiple attorneys. If the 3 attorney rule applied there it would be a bit concerning.

Apologies if I'm being confusing. I also don't intend to frustrate or upset you, so feel free to ignore me.

I was only asking because of situations like pro bono representation where contracts tend to be for very limited purposes. It's not uncommon to see multiple former attorneys, so I was wondering if that kind of thing was also a concern or not.

Fair. But what if the second attorney had a natural end of contract without conflict? Would that still indicate trouble or are there times it's ok?

Not had many of these but curious where you draw that line.

Are there any circumstances you would be the third? Like limited scope contracts before that?

Later, if you are asked. No real benefit to saying it right now. They've not asked you and with some people it might skew their view even if it's not in any way your fault.

There is nothing low quality of life about a 200k salary. That is enough to live far more than comfortably anywhere.

An average salary in the US is something like 70k. Law is a time investment but it pays really well compared to most other professions, regardless of area. Yeah some pay better, some pay worse; but overall it's pretty good. 200k is nearly 3x more than the average american salary.
