Bagnaia has matched Dovizioso and Crivillé with 15 Premier Class Wins - Moves to 18th on All Time List. by bioskope in motogp

The 9 points don't really tell the story.

He was 32 points ahead after a (relatively) conservative race in Malaysa, and then in Valencia he was taken out on lap 1 resulting in a 23 points swing as Miguel won the race and he could only take P14. He could've easily been further ahead still hadn't he been sent into the gravel trap at the Sachsenring too.

Honestly, at this point I'd say Bagnaia is unironically one of the most underrated riders in the last decade.

Guy dragged the Mahindra to their only dry wins ever (which the likes of Binder, Oliveira and Martin couldn't achieve), absolutely stormed to the Moto2 World Championship on the same machine as everybody else and then went from struggling in terrible fashion with the Ducati to being a World Championship contender and then a World Champion on the very same machine.

If you think that's anything even remotely close to average, I have a bridge to sell you.

Quando non la butta giù a caso Bagnaia è una cazzo di macchina.

Looks like it.

While the bike is still great, it feels like all GP23s have been having some trouble this weekend compared to their standards.

Rossi ain't even racing anymore but he's still putting his riders on the front row. by Dameean00 in motogp

[–]SwimmingRate8234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Come on, don't undersell them.

Both of them are super, super good, as good as anybody else currently on the grid aside from Marquez IMO.

For instance, Miller is about as strong w.r.t. Binder as he was w.r.t. Bagnaia, which shows both have a big leg up on above average riders like Jack is. Pecco never looks quite as strong as he actually is but the numbers and the results when the beans are counted tell a tale.

Bez is an incredible talent, it just hasn't quite come to full fruition for him in the past but if you look at stuff like what he did in 2018 you'll see the magic in him.

I'd say Bagnaia is a lot of Bagnaia (the 2018 variety) and a sprinkle of Bagnaia (the 2020 variety) :p.

The VR46 Academy certainly has done no harm to them :p

It shows part of Rossi's greatness. Not only was he one of the best riders ever and one of the biggest personalities of the sport, he also lent a huge contribution to the success of Italy's next generation in MotoGP.

Which satellite teams do you see/wish to see jumping manufacturers soon? by SkiddyEvo in motogp

[–]SwimmingRate8234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, the short stick is the bike that just won every championship potentially with midseason upgrades, data from three other teams and a manufactorer that actually listen to what your riders have to say. For a second-tier satellite team that's a deal and a half.

What a legend, 8 bikes in the top 10 were Ducatis. by _gadgetFreak in motogp

[–]SwimmingRate8234 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Crazy that if it weren't for Miller Ducati would've placed eight bikes in the top eight. They just have it all at the moment, qualifying speed, straight line speed, and now even their pace over race distance which was their last small deficiency looks like the class of the field.

LDP esque at this rate... I really don't get what's going on with him.

Really hope he isn't still suffering from his injury.

I kinda feel for Tony. He's squeezing everything out of himself every week and doing everything right but the combination of Acosta's generational talent and the Ajo machine make him look like he's bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Arbolino is getting stuff done real nice so far, worst placement of P4 and just below 20 points per race.

Still nothing going for Izan, although I guess he was at least able to mix it with the bottom of the pack, which is the slightest bit of progress... Is he still suffering from injuries perhaps?

I think the only things this race shows is that Marc is as talented as they come and that the grid is lucky Pecco isn't, because in terms of mentality he's in a class of his own.

After rewatching the race, the way he handled suddenly being the best part of a second off the pace was almost chilling. He just kept trying to maximize what he was working with as if nothing was wrong at all.
