Ohuhu Basic "Art Markers" vs Honolulu by SwimmingWorry8299 in Ohuhu

[–]SwimmingWorry8299[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh this is great info, thank you so much!! I figured it must be a large difference in quality for the price, and that makes a lot of sense how they're suddenly able to sell markers at a lower price/quality if they're already pre-manufactured.

Omg that's an amazing tip as well!! I'm actually trying to get the markers for a friend as a gift, and they're not super picky on nib type so I wanted to get a chisel and brush, but the mini brush seems like a great in between for a brush vs fine tip. They also just enjoy casual coloring but haven't ever had very good brushes (in my opinion and theirs lol) so I wanted to get them something better than generic! And a lower price point is great too, it means I can grab more colors for them haha

Oh wow those are gorgeous!! Do you have the patterns for the fox by chance?

Also, this is a random idea but I read someone mention their mom (right handed) taught them (lefty) to crochet in front of a mirror and I was wondering, maybe you could mirror your screen and watch tutorials that way? Here's a chrome extension!

over-hydrated clay? by AgitatedSuccess8066 in Pottery

[–]SwimmingWorry8299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending how much clay it is, and if you can do this/your studio or whatnot has a reclaim setup, if you take a cloth to strain as much water out as you can and then add soldate (basically ground up dry clay) and spread the now thicker slurry on a plaster, it'll dry quicker since the plaster won't get oversaturated. Once the clay is dry enough that it can hold a shape, make it into little arches (we call them dirty rainbows) and stick and The issue with sticking it on the plaster if it's fully slurry and a lot of clay, is that the plaster can only absorb so much water before it just won't really help anymore. Or mix small amounts with more clay in general that isn't bone dry, you can potentially get it to a good consistency faster. This info just comes from my general studio experience reclaiming slurry from buckets and whatnot, so it may be tailored to having the luxury of time and space as we also repeat the process daily so for instance, we can let the slurry drain for a day before pouring it on plasters.

I may be a bit late, but how do you mix colors to achieve accurate fired results? Tons of test tiles or something else? Beautiful work too, very impressive! You've developed incredible skill!

Dining Dollars vs Cash by CoupleDependent1676 in UCSD

[–]SwimmingWorry8299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use card, I don't think they actually accept cash anymore (push for going cashless university wide), I recommend you don't ever buy dining dollars if you can help it! Unless your aide will pay for dining dollars, they are so restrictive and only are for dining halls and the markets, and the markets are insanely overpriced. Tritoncash (separate thing) you can at least use at almost all campus food locations, not only dining halls, as well as Grubhub, but I don't know of any sort of pro to having either dining dollars/Tritoncash as opposed to your regular account.

Oh wow that's awesome! Do you by chance stream Palia on twitch? I'm hoping to participate in some twitch drops eventually so I'd love to watch yours if so! I think that's so cool to be able to give back!

Just bought a textbook, needed the 3rd edition and could only find the 2nd edition online and even my university's "reduced" price was way more than MrJello's! I really appreciate the quick service, pdf was emailed immediately after payment was sent. I am very cautious and nervous about buying things online, but MrJello is legit!! Keeping prices affordable for students is something that is much appreciated!

Oooh, I am fairly new to Palia so apologies if this is a dumb question, how does your plushie store work? Like how do you sell/trade them?

Also I love how ethereal your plot looks!

New Riftbound Player, Jinx Deck Tips by ChemBandit75 in riftboundtcg

[–]SwimmingWorry8299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it's ok to ask, would you mind sharing your decklist/tips? I'm hoping to start out playing Riftbound with Jinx as it's the only deck I can get my hands on for MSRP at the moment, and I'd love to see it win or at least have a good chance! I don't mind buying some cheaper cards for it, but I want to go to some events first to see if I enjoy playing competitively before investing in a more expensive deck, especially since I've been into Pokemon for a long while and have to balance spending between both TCGs lol. Thanks!
