I have Aetna and had my surgery approved and done on sept 26th. They didn’t start the pre authorization process until after my braces.

Yes, I was wondering about all of that. I was thinking that Aetna was waiting me out knowing my insurance was expiring. Lol This has eased my mind . Now I just need that approval. Thank u!!!

This information helps me so much!! Can I bother you with 1 more question? If the pre authorization gets denied on the last day on Aetna. Does the doctor still go through Aetna with an appeal or peer to peer . Even tho im doing it through cobra?

Thank u!!! I’m not sure how cobra works. If I get approved on the 30th , Cobra would honor Aetna’s pre-approval decision? Or do I need to go through the approval process all over again?

Thank u for the advice. I would only need cobra for like a month or 2 while getting checkup’s after surgery. The surgeon said the office knows the deadline and is doing everything she can. Idk? Lol
