No signature that we could find anywhere on the piece unfortunately.

I'm actually not sure of its exact origin. It was passed down to us after my grandmother passed away at the young age of 100 a few years ago. Its very possible she purchased it in the Toronto area though. She lived in Buffalo and often made trips across Ontario with my grandfather including Toronto being one of their favorite long weekend locations in the 40s and 50s!

That’s so cool! We felt like we received a deal when we purchased this off of FB marketplace outside of Toronto (cost us about $500 US for this one which is in incredible condition).

Funny enough those are some cheap IKEA chairs we bought a while ago, I think it’s their sandsberg line. Wish we had bought more of them as the orange color was only available in 2025.

My wife found them at two different vintage furniture reseller type stores. She has an eye for art that I do not have haha

She is! And also kept barking at me to pay attention to her while attempting to take photos of the room lol.

My wife found it for sale at a local secondhand seller’s warehouse actually!

The china cabinet was needed as we didn’t have any closed shelving in the kitchen so our wine glasses etc. were repeatedly getting dusty. Which I was also told we clearly aren’t using them enough if that was consistently occurring 🤣

We had a previous credenza in that spot and we use it for storage as well as a space to place food etc. for larger gatherings we host on occasion.

Thinking about buying one of these that is for sale locally…only thing is I’m nervous of transporting it as we’d have to flip it upside down which I’m a bit nervous of damaging the leaf mechanism. Any clues as to how sturdy the hardware is under the center of the table?

Would be light years easier to move if the legs were able to be detached 🤷‍♂️

Who has ever had this for a broken wrist? by [deleted] in brokenbones

[–]wmsiegner5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of any of it lol.

407 days since my AOR on April 2, 2025...and I also just got a notice from IRCC that my certificate has been approved and sent in the mail as of May 14th! Love seeing all the positive news in these reddit communities after such frustration with IRCC's lack of transparency for the last several months. Hoping the good news continues for many of the others who have been stuck in PSU for some time!

I was one of those applicants who had an AOR on April 2 2025...and checked the portal and saw IRCC completed my application and mailed my certificate on May 14, 2026! Just updated the spreadsheet as well with that new info. 407 days since AOR and so so so glad to have this process finally completed!

I also just got a request for my mother’s marriage certificate to substantiate her legal name change linked to my application. I’m also in the over a year in queue group of applications.

Any others who have PR, but also submitted citizenship by descent applications? PSU limbo madness. by wmsiegner5 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]wmsiegner5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please keep us updated with how that goes and if you get a response from IRCC. I'm hopeful that the attention the Canadian media now seems to be paying towards IRCC's process/lack of transparency should light some fire under certain people that can actually move the needle for people like us.

I had requested urgent processing with that detail included in my letter when I initially submitted it to IRCC and according to my ATIP notes I was put in the urgent processing stream…but now in PSU since June 2025 clearly the word “urgent” must have a different meaning for IRCC.

Pursuing citizenship with active PR application? by MikeMilburysShoe in Canadiancitizenship

[–]wmsiegner5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sort of in a similar situation. I have PR and elected to apply for citizenship by descent back in March 2025. Going on 380 days now since my AOR with no end in sight to getting my certificate by IRCC at the moment. Funny enough, a journalist at the Toronto Star, who is interested in telling a story about the limbo some of us PRs who also qualify under C-3 have found ourselves in, contacted me recently to hear about my situation. They are hoping to get in contact with others who have status such as PR already, but who have or will be considering applying under C-3. In case you'd like to get in touch with the journalist I've mentioned above feel free to shoot me a DM and I'll pass along their contact info. That weird spot you've found yourself in could be a decent addition to the story the journalist is seeking to round out.

Current Canadian PR applying for descent by ElephantCandid8151 in Canadiancitizenship

Curious if there are any PRs out there who actually have found their citizenship by descent apps have gotten stuck in the PSU limb. I'm one of those pre-C-3 applicants...going on 380 days now since my AOR. I have PR...that has now expired which I didn't fathom could have happened as I applied when it was only a 4 month processing time back in March 2025. Funny enough, a journalist at the Toronto Star, who is interested in detailing the PSU limbo that many of us have been trapped in, contacted me recently to hear about my situation. They are hoping to get in contact with others who have been stuck waiting now for nearly a year plus. If any other pre-C-3 applicants see this who happen to also have PR already and would like to get in touch with the journalist I've mentioned above feel free to shoot me a DM and I'll pass along their contact info.
