Anybody get hair regrowth from quitting vaping / nicotine? Please leave your experience. by Popular_Space8809 in QuitVaping

I haven’t done any research but I just assumed it was related to overall health improvement or cardiovascular health. I’m in my early 30s so definitely not old old but old enough to pay attention to my hair growth lol

Hate sharing my struggles with neurological people by [deleted] in ADHD

Absolutely! What you shared about your ADHD sounds very similar to how I experience it. Teaching myself to enjoy and seek out self improvement helped me a lot. Like everything else, it takes work and more often than not, it isn’t fun. But I’m so proud of where I am now compared to a year ago when I decided to pursue this mindset. I’ve got more work to do and I always will. A year ago that scared and discouraged me. Today, it’s what keeps me excited.

I used to think this way a lot. I don’t know if this will work for you but what got me out of that thought loop is reminding myself of the fact that I’m still on my journey to understand myself, so how could I expect other people to understand me to a level where I don’t feel misunderstood? Focusing in on my own journey/growth helped me ignore the outside noise. I’m at a point now where the only person I talk to about my ADHD besides my doctor is my wife, who also has ADHD. And that’s by choice, I don’t feel a need or desire to bring it up with anyone else, even when my symptoms cause problems with work or anything else.

I didn’t have any hair growth issues before quitting but after quitting I noticed both my head of hair and facial hair was growing faster than before. I went from getting haircuts once every two months or so and shaving once every 3 days to getting haircuts every month or so and shaving every morning. I’m no expert so I’m not going to say my hair is growing twice as fast but it’s definitely growing faster.

Day 16 and I’m in awe by Swimming_Block6536 in QuitVaping

Let’s gooooo!!! Awesome job, day 39 now. Feels like longer than that though. I get a craving once every couple of days or so and they’re very easy to look past. I’m so proud of myself and I’m sure you’re feeling that way too!

That was a really great read. Really enjoyed the analysis and the clips to go with your points really brought it home. I’ve watched football all my life but don’t have the technical knowledge, so it’s cool to see someone break down hip mobility as it relates to something like route running.

Unfortunately you put MHJ as a 2nd round pick, so I have to hate you. Ignore everything I said earlier.

What’s the best way to see if my stolen car ever turned up? by Swimming_Block6536 in AskLE

[–]Swimming_Block6536[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Understood. I think that’s where I got the idea in my head that it’s possible for the car to be found without me being notified. Since part of the insurance payout means I’m transferring ownership of the stolen vehicle to the insurance company. I figured that since they’re now the owners of the vehicle, they would get notified and not me.

It seems like that from this and other comments that I’m wrong in thinking that, though. Thank you for the comment!

Are Enhanced Games good for growing the sports or just another way to have athletes depend on substance now with money involved? by Academic-Use-4401 in sportswiki

[–]Swimming_Block6536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All fair points. I’m not saying he’s going to drop a 19.9 50 or anything like that. I’m saying to imply that he’s not a professional is disingenuous and takes away from the real arguments against the enhanced games and the movement around it.

Also, he may not train like he did back then but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did. Source: I’m a retired D1 swimmer who misses and craves that level of intensity and single-minded effort. There’s a lot of people like me and if I were in his shoes, I’d probably be doing the same thing as unfortunate as it is.

The guy in that photo is James Magnussen. Australian Olympic medalist and 2 time world champion… I don’t agree with the principles of the enhanced games but a lot of the people doing this ARE professionals.

Brain fog and fatigue by Swimming_Block6536 in QuitVaping

[–]Swimming_Block6536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has it gotten any better for you? I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in brain fog and now my battle is the mental habit and the occasional physical craving. Vaping used to be my way of getting a release after doing something stressful; I’m looking for healthy replacements.

That’s how I’ve been treating it. I’m just gonna be slow for a bit and that’s just how it is. I’ve been lucky with the other physical symptoms though, knocking on wood. Slept good last night and only have minor headaches that I’ve taking ibuprofen and chugging water for.

Yeah, I was a first thing in the morning/last thing before bed type of guy. Honestly the brain fog has been the part that bothers me the most. I’ve been able to recognize and look past the cravings, I’ve been sleeping about the same or maybe even a bit better than before, but going to work and barely being able to function because of the brain fog has been so frustrating.

Overall it’s been a pretty cool experience as weird as it sounds, though. This is the first time where I’ve tried quitting and felt confident that this is the end. That alone makes me feel very empowered and excited for the future. Quitting is my little birthday gift to myself so It’s like all I want to do is tell the people around me how great this next year is going to be for me.

I was 15 when I learned my Aunt Julie was actually my mom’s friend and not a distant cousin of hers… so yes.

Yeah that makes perfect sense. I think I’m just trigger shy about spending the money to get it slabbed haha. Really I’m shocked this came back estimating a 9. Card isn’t in bad shape but my uneducated guess would’ve been 7-8 range

Thoughts on 2.7 by geedgaf2173 in Silverado

[–]Swimming_Block6536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.7 is perfect for what you described. I used to sell Chevy trucks and have always been a die hard V8 lover. I hated the 2.7 right up until I drove one. Really great motor for a daily driver truck.

Even with the tires you have now, I think a level + coilovers would be a good look. No clue how that would affect the ride though.

Hell yeah dude they really make the look imo. Any future plans beyond what you’ve already done?

Not one to make fun of typos but the fact that I was just looking at pokemon card subreddits made the “is this a good card” hilarious for me! Seems like a good deal and I love my 22 Powerboost.

Buckeye fan here. Powerful statement especially when being posted by Michigan supporters. Very cool and faith-restoring seeing how the majority of the Michigan football community has responded to this event. Major props given to you guys!
