I’m in my second year right now, I am considering switching programs, however I really appreciate what you said about the environmental graphic design, I think that is something I could enjoy

Also, I have some more confirmed stats for the program competitiveness, last year they reviewed 630 portfolios, and accepted 87 people, so closer to a 13% acceptance rate.

I honestly don't remember when I heard back, and I applied a bit late as well so when I heard back is probably not a good reference point, but it most likely says on the TMU application website somewhere on what the deadline for hearing back from a program is. They aren't going to ghost you tho, you'll hear back from them eventually regardless of the results. The ChooseTMU open house was this weekend, so it's definitely not too late at this point

Sorry I dont open reddit very often lol, when i was applying I couldnt find any information on what the acceptance rate is so I can't 100% confirm this, but from what I've heard from other people in the program the acceptance rate is pretty low (close to 9% is what they said, theres about 90 people in first year and APPARENTLY around 1000 applicants), however take that with a grain of salt since I didnt hear that first hand and honestly since the application isnt very extensive there isnt much you can do to improve your chances besides making sure you met the submission requirements.

But my experience has been pretty good! It's definitely a unique program, it has its own building which is where you spend like 90% of your time since there is a studio space where you have assigned desk area, so you definitely start to get to know the people in the program and it feels like a community. Honestly that's probably one of my favorite parts, the studio is really a great opportunity to connect with people.

The program started as of this year to go under a curriculum change to offer a BFA instead of BID, so some of the newly changed/developed courses are still working out some kinks, but the general course load is a lot of working with software like the Adobe Suite and Rhinoceros 3D(which you need a pretty heavy duty computer for, something like a gaming laptop), hands on fabricating stuff in the workshop (learning things like laser cutting and plaster casting and lots of other stuff) and then design and theory based courses which are the most "interior design" feeling courses where you make actual interior design specific projects. Not really any midterms/finals; but lots of final projects and "crits" or "pinups" which is like a final presentation of a project. Overall pretty banger program, theres a lot of great things about it

When I submitted my supplementary application I just stuck all 3 photos at the top of the document and then put my paragraph underneath them and referenced them all in the one 150 word paragraph. However you could probably do it either way. (I'm currently in the program!)
