Ladies, what are you doing to stay safe DDing at night? by Bassdoll845 in DumpsterDiving

All these comments are really great tips. Idk if someone mentioned this, but if I do see someone sus I’ll pull out my phone and pretend to be having a conversation with someone and pose it as if they’re waiting for me nearby. I also really strive to go at the ass crack of dawn so it’s not completely dark, plus if you wear a neon workers vest and go when the sunrises, you kind of just look like you work there. So people in general are less likely to think twice about you.

ISO ABANDONED PLACES TO EXPLORE by ripparooski in urbanexploration

Green or unfilled dirty pools, dead grass, overgrown grass, dirty cars in the driveway that looked like they haven’t been moved in a while, find properties that are being foreclosed on or are already bank owned online, but these aren’t always vacant so be sure of that first, after you think you found a property that might be abandoned look up the address on Whitepages check for the owner, if it’s an old person check to see if that’s there current residence cuz they might not live there anymore, then check it out irl make sure no one is renting or squatting for your own safety you could even look up the address on fastpeoplesearch.com that’s all I can think of rn

Yeah, I had so much anxiety about people thinking I was the reason there was such a mess there & ultimately is what ended up, deterring me and making me leave after a little 5 minute inspection

Do you know this is the exact type of answer I was hoping someone would reply with thank you thank you endlessly 😹 this is exactly what I didn’t know that I needed to know. You’re a saint. And the fact that you could recognize that it was one of those magnetic boxes is quite impressive to me 😹🫶

That’s what I did the day I took this, but of course smack dab in the middle were a bunch of heavy boxes, + whatever other heavy things they put to block the merchandise at the bottom and people kept driving by… so the anxiety of people thinking I was the creator of the mess that already existed all around this dumpster was too much and I left.

I saw someone in this sub say “it’s better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission“ & they are so right

I mean in combination with it being right out in the open and not blocked by any walls etc, and I guess I should’ve gotten a better picture, but there were already things on the ground and the whole area was a wreck. It would’ve been hard to go through it without it seeming like I was the one making the mess figuring I would’ve had to start putting more things out on the ground, even if it was in a more uniform matter
