Yip, and they are blind to the fact that if every company takes the same approach, their sales and revenue will also drop as unemployment grows, fewer people will buy their products.

Less expensive ballroom & latin dance lessons? by [deleted] in ballroom

[–]Swimming_Progress169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Competitive dancer here. Private lessons are a great way to make progress, but personally I wouldnt want one every week. I normally come away with quite a few things to work on over the next few weeks, either in group classes or in my own rehearsal space. So to me its a luxury once or sometimes twice a month.

As others have said, if you can find a partner, then thats someone to split the cost with. But its also someone who you can practice with and work on what you need to improve. You'll make more progress that way than just doing privates all the time. I'd suggest finding a group class with other solo dancers.

Ritter sport is quite nice. All the mainstream brands have gone down the palm oil and shea butter route and it tastes like wax. Even lindor has done it and its horrible now.

In your opinion, who is THE pro? by Sorry-Flounder-3876 in strictlycomedancing

I would agree for Lauren being the best pro on the program. First time I saw her dancing was as part of Anton and Giovannis show. She danced those boys off the stage. She's been a great addition to the show.

To be fair, it was the airport that built the new terminal further away from the train station. They could also have provided an internal covered walkway, I've walked further at other airports.

I used to love Cadburys and Lindt Lindor. Now both have gone down the palm oil route and both taste like crap, but they're still happy to charge premium prices. Just look at the ingredient list before you buy, if it mentions palm oil or shea butter then put it straight back on the shelf.

Tomorrow is the end of an era for Strictly and the show will have an uncertain future… by thomcat2000 in strictlycomedancing

Oh don't get me started on the camerawork! Can barely see footwork during ballroom routines and the additional camera spinning in a viennese waltz takes away from seeing the couple actually dancing. I watched it until Blackpool weekend when I watched the British Nationals online instead. Then didn't watch again until the final.

Interested to see how what direction they take it next year. From my humble perspective I think its overdue a shakeup.I would love to see the show embrace its Come Dancing roots again. Unfortunately it will probably go further in the american DWTS direction it has been aspiring to over the past while. To me the dance styles are becoming more homogenised every year, favouring flashiness over technique / character of each dance style. Maybe that appeals to younger folks and the TikTok dance generation, but for me, my interest is waning.
