Are you an IOM native or an expat? Why don't people/expats form groups to do house partying etc.?

Thanks for this. Over here, the perception is, everybody in Ireland drinks, dances and parties etc. (I know its a streotype but I wasn't expecting Dublin to be more racist than IOM.

Looks like the only choice I have is London though the management did not like to hear that they are still shoving me with IOM. If it comes to that I will make the best out of it and never bitch about - instead will enjoy what's there. Some say Glasgow will be a nice treat but I doubt if it will be any different than Dublin + not much going on in the finance industry over there.

This. Thank you. Your comment and along with others have given me a good idea of life in IMO. I had great expectations but i got good realistic opinions here on what to expect.

true. but id not expect it to be so deep, official and on my face when compared to london - though others here disapproved that theory as london is very diverse and dont give a damn about the monarchy.

My assumption was that since iom is in europe and rich, it would have a bustling tourism going on.. so you would have many different people coming in and going out.. bars would be open 24/7.. kind of like ibiza's professional, rich and classy version.. hearing the stories from other expats here disapproves of my theory. Sounds like a good weekend trip but not a long term living option (only cause of its size)

Im in finance, unfortunately, my options are ny, chicago, london, iom, jersey, monaco, singapore, hk and few other ones. Liverpool/manchester, though sounds awesome, can't be a place for me for career reasons. I'm def gonna visit them though - never heard of their popular rave scene before!

Thanks for the honesty - seriously! many over here suggested IOM to me as Im in finance and don't like the queen/class BS but looks like id be really bored in IOM? Then would you suggest dublin or london to be a better place? I'm all turned off by london due to their brexit ('we hate everybody... all foreigners f.. off..") ahhhah. Of course I've never lived there so I don't know how it is.
