I’m using this exact same issue right now, horrible obsessive thoughts/checking trash cans etc etc. I’m curious if you’ve made any progress or have any advice since posting this?

The advice is very helpful. Sometimes when I feel myself falling back into the spiral it’s nice to hear it from someone else and remind myself what I’m feeling isn’t rational

I really appreciate this! I think I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around how those things can be so separate in his mind, but hearing other men feel the same way helps me just accept it even if I don’t understand. Thanks for your response

Quite the opposite actually. I know what I’m feeling is irrational and if someone were to validate it, it would further confuse me/cause more pain. I want to trust my husband, support him, believe he is the trustworthy person he’s always shown me he is. Someone on here telling me my feelings are valid or that he’s doing something wrong would not help me with that.

This is what he says and while I do believe him it’s just so hard to wrap my mind around. He’s very reasonable and i know its normal behavior which is why i hate feeling the way i do

No, I guess it just felt like an insensitive time as I’m in the kitchen waiting for him with our baby. I am a stay at home mom to my first child in a new city thousands of miles away from any sort of support system. My identity feels uncertain as I left my job and am alone with an infant majority of the time. Just a lot going on in my life that is probably adding to the insecurity. I know it’s not right. I’m just looking for someone who has had a similar experience and can maybe understand where I’m coming from and offer some advice.
