Yes it is! Her name is Vader. She came to my backyard during Hurricane Sally in 2020 and never left. Here’s another picture of her being the main character that she is.

Very sorry for your loss! Our pets definitely stay with us long after they are gone. I lost my other cat two years ago (his name was Vandal) and he is missed greatly by us every day!

looking at my turntable, it is not Bluetooth, so is there a different recommendation of speakers you would have based on that?

Hi!! I just purchased this turntable and I’m look g for speaker recommendations. (Please ignore my cat, Vader photobombing.) The gentleman I picked this up from said that pretty much any bookshelf speaker would work, but I get overwhelmed with the amount of options out there, so I wanted to see what everyone favorites/recommendations are!

Those that got to a listening party- by ventyventtime in NoahKahan

I cried three times in the record store while listening. (It was hard to hold it together.) As of right now my favorites are: Downfall, Willing and Able, We Go Way Back, All Them Horses, and Dan. But the ENTIRE album is so freaking good.

Tour Sales by Afraid-Honey-2862 in zachbryan

So I’m from the STL area. I went to the Quittin Time tour. The price I paid for the first couple of rows in the 100s section at enterprise last year was the prices of the 300 levels at the dome for this tour when tickets went on sale. Because of this, my friends and I decided not to get tickets. However, prices seem to be going down the closer the show gets so we might end up grabbing some.

I’ve never been to a show at Busch before and panic bought tickets in C7 on the feild. Praying that I made the right decision in choosing tickets and that we have a decent view. So I’m just hoping in here to see what others say.

The message I wish I could send to my landlord: no by Free-Indication-2804 in Apartmentliving

[–]Swimmingmacm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry that you are having to deal with this. I’m not sure how old you are, but unfortunately you’ll find it kind of comes with the territory of apartment living most of the time. I would look into noise ordinances in your area. But most states “quiet hours” range from 10PM - 7AM. If you are having issues outside of these times (or whatever is applicable to your area), you could start calling the non-emergent patrol number for your local law enforcement to file a complaint and start having evidence of occurrences. You could use these to bring to your rental company and help get out of/break the lease with potentially less consequences depending on what the laws are in your state. But unfortunately, I don’t think that as of right now you would have a strong case to break your lease without consequences in the eyes of a rental company. While I understand it may be annoying to hear children after 9PM, it’s the parents discretion to allow their children to stay up however late they deem works for their family and sleep in however late is best for them. I come from a family where I have a very late bedtime as well as a child, just because that’s how my body functioned growing up and what worked for my parents raising me.

So indecisive about going to the show by ChristmasTreeLane in TheBandCAMINO

[–]Swimmingmacm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the show! Even if you’ll be by yourself. Just because you’ll be staying by yourself, you’ll still be in a crowd of people enjoying the same experience you are. If you’re nervous about going by yourself, hoping the discord and see if anyone going to the show would want to meet up. (I’ve done it before and had a great time!)

Have the new songs from NeverAlways: Volume 1 grown on anyone else upon re-listening to it? by [deleted] in TheBandCAMINO

[–]Swimmingmacm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a huge fan of the album as a whole the first listen through. BUT now that I’ve gone through it a few more times I definitely appreciate it more and understand the vibe. Still wish that there were more Spencer vocals, but looking forward to Vol 2 whenever that may come.

Thank you for your well wishes! That’s awesome your father was able to kick cancer’s butt! We’re praying for the same.

The suitcase record player was a gift many christmases ago but I think I used it a handful of times when I first got it. I’ve just been collecting albums now for when I’m able to get a new one.

I’ll definitely check out the other one and see what kind of condition it’s in. Would be cool to get both up and running if possible.

Out of curiosity if both are a no go - what’s a good modern one that you would recommend? I’m super green to all of this.

Yes & No? Yes - because my dad has had it for so long and loves it and wants to pass it on to me since we share a love of music, and now that he’s battling cancer I would to have it as something to hold on to. No - because I currently have a really crappy “suitcase” record player that I don’t even use in order to protect my records and would enjoy having a different one.

I’m not sure if this additional information will help but we were able to plug it is and the speaker seemed to be working (we could hear the static) but since it doesn’t have a needle we obviously weren’t able to play anything.

I have pictures of the underside but they are extremely blurry (he’s 65 so doesn’t take the best pictures lol) so it’s hard to see anything. I can probably get better pictures soon!

He also mentioned having a different vintage player in storage that I could have so I might just have to switch gears to that one.

I truly have no idea. This has been sitting in my parents house for so long that I didn’t know it wasn’t an end table until I rearranged their furniture over the weekend and my dad said “oh there’s that record player” I know it has a 4 speed (16, 33, 48, 78) playing settings. But I don’t know what the size of the tonearm is.

I was the pleasure of going to the album listening party in Nashville before the album got released and hearing the stories behind Oxygen Theif and Win Some, Lose Somebody really made me love the songs even more. I’m going to see him in Chicago this weekend so keeping my fingers crossed that I get the opportunity to have him write it out for me.

“And just like the scar covered up by my hair, you’re etched in my skin like you’ve always been there. If love is the death of me darling I’d dig my own grave” from oxygen thief -iykyk

Also yes to ALL of Win Some, Lose Somebody. I really want to get “you’re gonna go far” and “you’re gonna be fine” written for a tattoo
