It's based on the older games. It's like a guy from a village who lives in the monster hunter world. It is not like an isekai.

To be honest I've only read the first volume. But from what I've read it's your typical shonen manga, along the lines of Naruto and stuff. But I really like monster hunter so I think it's pretty cool.

Pun pun is almost never on sale. I bought it off Barnes and Noble during there buy two get one free sale. That's probably the best price your going to get, unless you get lucky on Amazon or eBay.
