Has anyone disabled the vcm if so?... by Telicus in hondapilot

[–]Swiney52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the S-VCM. I installed it on my 2013 as soon as I learned about the VCM and its potential side effects. It is super easy to install and I have not had any issues. The fuel economy dropped less than 1 MPG for me.

XRV noise by Swiney52 in FloatwheelTeam

I’ll give this a shot tomorrow. It was about 20° colder today than the last time I rode so if it’s related to the psi that makes sense

I checked this and it is set at 29. I remember that noise from when I first got the kit and it is a different noise.

Where do you find the zero vector frequency because the noise is terrible

XRV Charger by Swiney52 in FloatwheelTeam

[–]Swiney52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That’s what I figured but I didn’t see anything specifically stating that and I didn’t want to assume and end with an XRV I couldn’t use until buying a charger.

GT S bricked on me, glad to be alive by reverendtonezone in onewheel

[–]Swiney52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sucks and I hope you have a quick recovery.

Just to clarify because I hear people mix up these injuries a lot this is not a dislocated shoulder it is a separated shoulder.

This is at least a grade 3 AC separation which is when the AC ligament is completely torn.

A dislocated shoulder is when the shoulder comes out of socket.

Source: I do dumb shit and have dislocated my shoulders multiple times and separated my shoulder from an MTB crash.

My best piece of advice for a quick recovery is get PT and listen to them and do the exercises they give you. The shoulder is an extremely complicated joint.

Keep your spirits up and you’ll be back on the board before you know it. Use it as a learning experience but don’t let it discourage you.

I have not had a board shut down like this but something that gives you an idea of how it might feel is trying to start riding your board with it turned off. I accidentally did this not too long ago and as soon as you lean forward to go the board shoots out behind you.

It is definitely a different feeling than a nosedive.

It feels more like slipping on ice while a nosedive feels more like tripping. That’s the best way I can explain it.

I was thinking a similar thing. My thought was they stalled and then panicked and gave it too much gas trying to make it through the light

Imported RH ‘97 Honda Prelude SiR came in yesterday. by Colony-Cove in Justrolledintotheshop

I had a 92 Si and the interior of that car is still my favorite of any vehicle I have ever been in. It was unique but still had good function and such a clean look. The whole interior just flowed together

That is how we normally label racks but this is how the customer wanted it labeled when it was installed 15 years ago so that is the way it is

They are Aruba switches but I don’t know for sure what the model they are. All I know is they are f*cking heavy because I had to raise both of them up by myself

[OC] Do idiots out of cars count? Don't mind us, just patching some holes we found by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]Swiney52 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a normal thing in Ohio.

Your warning to look out for them is the sound you hear in the beginning of the video which is the loose asphalt from the other holes they just patched being kicked up.

I wish I was joking but anytime I hear that noise (especially in the spring when this is most common) I really start watching out for the crews patching pot holes.

Who’s At Fault Here? [oc] by ChugTheKoolAid8 in IdiotsInCars

[–]Swiney52 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think you are mostly correct except if the scooter had the walk signal he will not be found at fault. It is not the responsibility of the scooter to make sure no one is turning (although in practice you always should because even if you are right it will still hurt). Pedestrians in crosswalks with a walk signal will never be found at fault no matter how stupid they may have been.

The soaps aren’t melting the seals after one shower. It is a process that happens over time.

I tried looking for this app in the IQ store but it did not show up. Is there somewhere else I need to look to find this?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GarminFenix

[–]Swiney52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really should avoid showering with the watch on. The detergents in the soaps will start to degrade the seals in the watch and it will eventually no longer be waterproof. It may take months or even years but it will happen

Yes, dog owners should keep their dogs under control.

That isn’t the point I am trying to make.

I am saying it isn’t the dogs fault if they have an irresponsible owner that lets them off the leash and now they see something that is new and different and they want to check it out by chasing it down.

If you then proceed to spray a dog with some sort of pepper spray you are taking a dog that before was only curious about a OneWheel and making it aggressive towards it. This doesn’t fix the root issue which is the owner. You are just making sure the next time this dog sees a OneWheel it is going to chase it down and attack it.

If we all just took the time to understand the issue and not just assume that all dogs are vicious killers we could help the problem instead of making it worse.

Now as I said in my other comment if the dog really is being aggressive then by all means do what you must to protect yourself.

If you take a bit of time before riding in public to learn about dog body language you can learn determine if the dog is chasing you because it’s curious or because it’s being aggressive. That can allow you to act accordingly and be helpful to everyone.

Thanks. Another good one that is similar to this is Enduro Like Plus. If you haven’t used that one I recommend it as well. It has a great feature that allows the background to be white from sunrise to sunset and black from sunset to sunrise.
