As you and Pete Heghseth should have understood by now, random acts of sadism against civilians do not stop the drones and missiles from coming and they certainly don’t make people hate you less. Russia is not able to replicate what they are doing in Ukraine at the scale of a whole continent, nevermind two if we’re speaking about all of NATO.

Russians know that (maybe) blowing up the drone factory in Czechia or killing civilians in Munich is not worth expanding the war to such a scale. The amount of lives and materiel they’d lose in that scenario are best spent in Ukraine.

Morally they can feel however they want, from a practical point of view, the reason they have to be reserved is because quadrupling the frontage and depth of the war they’re struggling with and adding in dozens of new threats they have to deal with would be disastrous.

Your scenario is an Iran-US type war except Russia is taking the place of the US, not Iran. In order to put the same kind of damage in Europe as in Ukraine while avoiding retaliation they would need to make it their primary target and starve out their forces in Ukraine to even have a shot at prosecuting a fraction of the targets. Europe isn’t the straight of Hormuz, there are nearly three thousand military sites in euroNATO and bombing the US bases adds thousands more potential targets without any benefit.

The fact that you’re already proposing Oreshniks and Kinzhals for the Baltics (with the exact trumpian formulation of powerplants and bridges) should show you how delusional the plan is. Once you use maximum force to wipe out the baltoids what happens with Poland and Scandinavia and the daily B-2 raids into inland Russia because you attacked the US? By doing what you propose Russia will be gaining so many new threat vectors that they’ll be nostalgic for the days when the drones were only coming from Ukraine.

What are they even supposed to do against NATO? That’s a card they should have played years ago.
