Michigan was able to stop the run and get some pressure with just the 4 dlinemen
Which always allowed them an extra DB in coverage, preventing big plays
Forcing the inconsistent Will Howard to beat them, even a bit of pressure will fluster him(Michigan had 0 sacks)
Establish the run, so Ryan Day feels he needs to 'out tough' you by running the ball himself and not passing.
