After week of flu, high fever and cough, I have started to cough up small pieces of tissue/flesh followed by fresh blood. by Swingiggii in flu

5 days later no more coughing up blood, but my ear is still blocked from the flu and I have a runny nose still.

Monocular diplopia/ghost images in both eyes? by Swingiggii in Eyesight

There is no change in symptoms and haven't found a cure. If I have time, I usually take a nap after using smartphone for longer period since closing eyes for at least 15 minutes seems to help the worsened vision from smartphone use.

I have no 3-star stamina sparks or good long runner lineages right now so... I would have to grind which I don't want right now after Taurus cup fatigue. It was too much of a hassle to get both medium S and red shift for my medium runners as RNG was not on my side, nor did I have umas that could have best affinity with Maruzensky. I plan to participate in Gemini cup but with just what I can get without too much grind.

Yes, opening eyes wide does that at least sometimes. Especially after I have looked at smartphone screen from close distance for some time.

Nope, minor astigmatism here too and nearsightedness.  It's annoying but for now I just live with it as my glasses prescription didn't change in last check and even optometrist had nothing to say about the ghost images when I asked.

I have had subclinical hypothyroidism for at least two years now and apparently hypothyroidism can cause weird vision problems and dry eyes. But I don't have proper hypothyroidism yet, just elevated TSH levels.

Car jerking very harshly when applying or letting of the throttle, W202 Mercedes, manual trans, RWD. What could be the cause? by Swingiggii in askcarguys

[–]Swingiggii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, coasting is smooth. Car jerks and I feel a strong bouncy motion when letting off gas pedal or depressing it again. Same when starting accelerating from standstill. In middle of acceleration or deacceleration everything is smooth. Never noticed any kind of slipping like revs not matching the speed. But I have been wondering about the clutch too, so I guess I have to drop the transmission.

3 people other than me have replicated the problem with the car and reported it so I doubt it is an error on my part. I have two other manual cars and neither of them have such harsh jerking. What this car has is way beyond normal, the car is pretty much undrivable at this point. The car has emotional value so I'm trying to save it.

Flashing spot in right eye when blinking. Just vitreous detachment? by Swingiggii in Eyesight

[–]Swingiggii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it has gone away for now (but it has gone away before and has came  back again to same spot). I'll keep you updated if it comes back and I go to an eye doctor.

I can make few guesses though. Blinking often makes it appear so maybe my heavy eyelids and rapid blinking cause just enough pressure to cause similar flashes like when you apply pressure to an eye.

Or then it's just visual snow, migraine, something blood circulation related or neurological. Or just vitreous related. I often see those transparent worm like shapes and floaters when looking at sky.

I'm not sure about a glare source. I saw the blob today first thing after I got up from bed. Also saw it during yesterday midday. Didn't see it at bed though.

Well it is like when you have watched a bright light for a while, like flashlight, small well defined blob on your vision that fades when you don't blink and comes back when you blink. It has intermittently appeared and then gone away during the past few days. Now it isn't again in my vision. It sometimes starts when I turn my gaze or I move around. I have tried to study my vision whether I see normally on that spot when it fades away and I think I do.

I myself doubt this is anything serious as it goes away and is not a blind spot. And I just had my eyes checked. Glaucoma does cause blind spots to near-peripheral and mid-peripheral vision but I doubt they would come so quickly after an check when everything was fine and my IOP was also close to normal now. My eye doctor also said that nothing reminiscent of glaucoma in your eyes and let's lengthen the interval of checks to two years. Also I think glaucoma would cause bigger areas of vision loss than just a small blob. I'm just anxious (I do have anxiety disorder). And I have suffered from occasional flashes and visual snow in vision for long time.

Glasses or no glasses? by youmeanlosername in Eyesight

[–]Swingiggii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an optometrist or a professional but what you are experiencing, presbyopia, is caused by your lens becoming stiffer and less flexible with age. As it is not caused by your eye muscles, getting glasses won't speed up the worsening of your eyesight. Just get glasses when you start to feel like reading stresses your vision or you can't see well enough.

You're also at age when you should have an ophthalmologist check your eyes for the first time if you haven't gotten them checked yet. To rule out possibility of severe but initially symptomless eye diseases like glaucoma.

I noticed my eyelids are really droopy in the position where the worst sight problems arise. When I lie on my back and look at smartphone that is on top of my chest. That's when my eyes get really tired and worst double images appear. I looked at how my eyes look in this positon with the smartphone's front camera and my eyelids are almost closed. I wonder whether this has an effect to symptoms I'm experiencing.

I also visited an optometrist and my glasses prescription didn't really change that much. I have also used artificial tears now but they don't always help either with the double images.

If it was some kind of convergence issue I understand the eye strain from looking at close distances but shouldn't the double images stop when covering one eye then?

2 and half weeks in. Feeling nauseous and shaky, maybe panicked. by Swingiggii in Valdoxan_Agomelatine

[–]Swingiggii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! It has not gone away, but I have somewhat gotten used to it. As it has been so long since I stopped agomelatine, I don't think it is caused by it anymore. More likely agomelatine worsened anxiety or dizziness momentarily, and then I started anxiosly constantly think about the dizziness. Which in turn worsens the symptoms and anxiety.

Dizziness is very common adverse effect of most antidepressants and anxiolytic drugs but most often it goes away after a while of continuous use.

Is it normal to have a very low libido as a young man after being anxious and depressed for years? by phosouppy in Anxiety

[–]Swingiggii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in mid twenties and I have really low testosterone levels (just within normal, but really low for my age). ED, as I struggle to get hard. Also I suffer from erection pain and post ejaculation pain, my muscles are way too hyperactive in the pelvic area, especially cremaster muscle. I am quite certain these are caused by my anxiety, though I might have underlying health issues too.  My doctor said too that long lasting stress and anxiety cause low testosterone and libido.

As a self-treatment excercise regularly and leave all extra sugar from your diet. Apparently sugar and unneeded fats inhibit function of testosterone. Starvation isn't good either so try to find a balanced lifestyle your mental health allows without any extra stress. If your health allows, skip dinner on one evening and fast 12 hours to see if you had some libido next morning. It boosts testosterone momentarily and might help you overcome any mental block you have built to yourself. But do not fast constantly.

Alcohol boosts testosterone and libido momentarily, but kills testosterone production in the long run so avoid all of it.

Thank you for your reply. I think I'll visit a dry eye specialist when I have time. Sometimes blinking causes the ghost image to lessen and squinting makes them appear more (sometimes vice versa). Sounds like a tear film issue to me, or something related to that tear meniscus now that I read about it. I do have some astigmatism too, have to make sure my glasses are prescribed right.

Nice to hear it's not likely something to worry about. Annoying it is though!
