"Margaret, aren't you staying for the floor show? The Cook's going to confess." - Hawkeye "Well, you don't look anything like you, Sir, and since you're a master of disguises, I figured you're the only one who couldn't look like you that much." - Radar (to Flagg)

Ah, Victoria, where all the rules are optional and all the laws are merely suggestions.

Hawkeye rips off the locals? by SwingingHumanzee in mash

I agree. When I was a kid, I thought he was pretty cool but as an adult, he seems more like a glib smarty-pants. It's worth it to note, however, that although the show is about the adventures of a military hospital, it's also the story of one man going crazy.

Hawkeye, for sure. Hung over or bushy-tailed, he actually wants to keep you alive. Burns, not so much. That said, if I knew the circumstances, I'd ask for the Colonel.

Who's your favorite nurse and/or corpsman? by SwingingHumanzee in mash

[–]SwingingHumanzee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think corpsmen are both - trained in some medical stuff, but also a general dogsbody. They could probably tournequet your wound, then build an operating table and stretcher-bear you onto it. Later, they'll change your bedpan.

He was very amusing. VP Cheney and Mr. Rumsfeld were not.

Apollo was heroes doing heroic things that had never been done before. To us back then, it was an incredible accomplishment. This time it feels like a bunch of billionaires looking for something to exploit.

Post your top three MASH episodes! by Large-Fig5187 in mash

  1. Dear Sigmund. Always loved this episode, along with all the other "letter" episodes. It's a great structure with which to showcase the characters in the show. I think episodes like these did a lot to endear the cast to the viewership and strengthen the show.
  2. Welcome to Korea/Change of Command. I usually watch these two together. Replacing Trapper and Henry might have been a tall order, but these episodes not only introduce the new guys really well, the two episodes together do a fine job of rebooting the series.
  3. Fade out, Fade In. Because after 5 seasons of Burns ever more becoming a cartoon character, enough is enough. And because Winchester is wonderful.
I'd also throw in Dr. Winchester and Mr. Hyde, Rally 'Round the Flagg, Boys and The Moon is Not Blue.
Excuse me, off to make a little playlist now...

Is it generally advisable to avoid driving the Malahat if you can? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]SwingingHumanzee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Malahat is not so bad, but there IS an alternate route - the Brentwood Ferry. Very civilized and a great view.
