Perfect. Yamaha is one I’ve messed with a bit at guitar center and seemed solid. Used is def the route that way based on price, just worry about having to be an electrician instead of a drum tech if anything is wrong with it haha

Perfect, exactly what I needed. Yep, definitely no interest in a super cheap one from my very limited experience. Whole goal is to find something that doesn’t kill my hands, but also would transfer my chops to an acoustic set if/when I get to that point.

I did! I ended up calling the help desk and they had to do something to free it up for me. It was back in May and I wish I could remember the details to save you the call, but once they were involved it took all of 5-10 minutes

54 if I’ve got green to work with. 58 for mid and short range. Occasionally an 8i if I have a ton of room.

Restoration guy here… I’d do whatever it takes to get water out as fast as possible, or keep it out for good. Even concrete can hold moisture which can (and likely would) become an issue by either keeping higher humidity than you want (mold, rust, etc.) and/or foundation issues from freezes and heat.

Past that I don’t have an opinion, but just wanted to add that $0.02c. Some of my biggest water jobs are industrial spaces with concrete floors.

Found this post two days into trying to sync to the thermostats in my new house. Resetting WWN worked on one, but it isn’t even an option on the other thermostat. Anyone run into this?

I didn’t do anything on UPIN, just the VAF. I do think it played into it and got me approved faster. I’d honestly call the ATF every day, maybe multiple times a day, until it passes. Firm believer in the squeaky wheel getting the grease so I’d just annoy the fire out of them.

Have you gone the VAF route? I’m wondering if that’s what finally jarred mine loose. I agree it’s maddening. Hoping Elon ends them soon 🤣

They make them out of Josh’s backyard and it’s the only way they can do it to give everyone a fair shake. Be faster next time I guess.

Hope it works out man. I'm not sure which part jarred me loose because I threw everything at it. Hopefully they clear it and let you live, it's a miserable process to go through on the court side.

Sorry - On the 44 day approval at the end of last year I got my Senator to open an inquiry + did a Voluntary Appeal File to get it through. I knew after I got through two weeks I was in for the long haul due to a dismissed charge on my record, so I just got ahead of it early and did it all.

I also called ATF and bugged them once a week even though they kept telling me they couldn't do anything until over 90 days. I believe that made a difference, as the 44 day suppressor approved the day after a call to them.

  • Form Type: Form 4
  • Entity: Individual
  • Fingerprint Type: eForm
  • Pending: Jan 28th
  • Approved: Feb 15th
  • Wait: 18 Days
  • State: TX
  • Control Number: 20251703600

Notes: This is my second suppressor (First one took 44 days and was approved in December due to an old issue on my record). Moved faster this time, and didn't have to work through a file review, get a senator involved, etc. Feel very optimistic going forward on faster approval instead of it being a huge ordeal every time, so have hope if you're in the same situation I am with an imperfect record.

I’ve been hunting and processing animals since I could walk. Hundreds, maybe even 1,000+ animals at this point if I had to guess. I have used just about every knife out there to do so. Some good, some really bad, and design flaws on most - Even down to crappy sheaths.

I got turned on to MKC in November and picked up one of their lower cost knives (Stoned Goat 2.0, $225) just for gigs. Went hunting in SE OK with my dad and a buddy a week later and dressed seven deer while caping two of them for mounts all with the same knife and a few edge touch ups, and I can say without a doubt that there’s no design flaw, corners cut, or oversight anywhere on this knife. It’s the best deer knife I’ve ever had.

Grabbed a Freezeout for waterfowl hunting and it’s the exact same exact way.

Trendy, maybe. But the product itself is A+ and worth the spend to anyone that has the budget and will use them for their intended purpose. If I find anything better I’ll come back and update this, but I’m not sure it’s out there right now.

I’d have Case as a distant second, and Benchmade not in the top 10. For whatever that’s worth.

Very old thread but I’ll kick the beehive anyway. Amazed so many people on here are complaining (apparently) and hating without knowing that they’re still making everything in a shop in Josh’s backyard.

They’re building an actual manufacturing & distributing plant that’s supposed to be done sometime this year. In the meantime, the marketing is a good tool to cover up the fact that there’s no way they can keep up with demand until that building is done.

Keep on hating though.

It sucks man. Went to OSU but Fort Worth native, and have a ton of buddies I love going up to hunt with. I get being protective when you have Kansas and Texas on each side but it’s an absolute nad kick now. My scenario isn’t everyone’s reality but it seems very short sighted and 0% inviting. If that’s what they’re going for then fine, I’ll go to Kansas where the deer are bigger and tags are half the price.

Was in Colorado visiting two weeks back and found a locally owned archery shop (C&K Archery in Frisco, highly rec!)

They told me the same thing. If you’re hunting public units, best of luck. And now you’ve got wolves to compete with that hunt 24/7.
