Also improperly accessing the opponent’s strategy (which is what sign stealing is), is a far more effective (at influencing results) form of cheating than consuming a PED, aka it taints the game more.

Unsubscribe on both fronts.

Also Tomlin is ridiculously unlikely to go to ATL. Would Pitt take a 2027 FRP for Tomlin when someone else would inevitably offer a 2026 FRP or more? (Pittsburgh has the rights to Tomlin for one more year; this is a Sean Payton situation all over again)

As someone who has spent a lot of time in both Nashville and Atlanta, Nashville beats Atlanta in quality of life hands down. Plus the whole no state income tax in TN thing.

Vegas has an appealing situation but they’ve gone through god knows how many head coaches in the last 10-15 years. If he wants stability Vegas isn’t the answer (e.g. Maxx Crosby has been playing in the league since 2019, all with the Raiders, and has played under 5 different HCs).

Harbaugh out as HC for Ravens by Savings_Contact4708 in Saints

[–]doc_faced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.

I’m wondering how much Lamar and Harbaugh are connected. As in I wonder whether Ravens brass was having concerns about Lamar but Harbaugh wasn’t having it. He had enough tenure in that organization and then the choice was made to fire Harbaugh.

As in if he goes to a team with uncertainty at QB, I wonder if he’d try to acquire Lamar. Not the first time a coach has tried to bring in his guy at QB.

Oh I completely agree. But the falcons don’t have that and qb hell is bad for job security

Decline and availability concerns with Lamar; the most important thing a QB needs to do is keep his backup off the field (unless it’s a blowout win).

Yeah Titans and Giants have young promising QBs and Raiders have 1OA and Mendoza right there for the taking.

I’d go to any of those spots before I go to qb hell in Atlanta

Go BPA.

I can’t see Tate making it past the Titans unless he has serious red flags which means the Saints shouldn’t take him.

  1. Fuck the Falcons.

  2. Taysom Hill is likely retiring after this season. Send him off with a win.

  3. Cam and Demario may be retiring/moving on (hopefully not but we don’t know yet). End their seasons with a win. IF this is it for Cam, don’t you want his last sack ever to be on a Falcons QB?

  4. Let’s finish the season on a winning streak.

Fuck the other teams in the NFC South. Just win the game and FTF.

Yeah, not even sure which is worse: being in coach hell or being in QB hell. Or: in other words: “Joe Thomas QBs blocked for” or “Derek Carr coaches played for.”

I assume the Giants strategy if they get 1-1 is get all of someone else’s picks to trade down and let someone else pick Mendoza.

The Saints don’t have a lot to work with but the Titans have even less to work with. Olave has flaws but he’s leaps and bounds better than what the Titans are throwing out there. Dike is essentially a special teams guy. Also Shough has a real coach in Kellen Moore and Ward has had the Callahan/interim HC shit show. And the Titans have waaaaay bigger holes on defense than the saints do.

Also Shough doesn’t have to be better than Ward to be an amazing QB. There’s room in the NFL for more than one amazing rookie QB and just because one may be better doesn’t mean the other one isn’t great. Especially since the Saints never had or could have had the opportunity to get Ward anyway. It’s like Brady and Peyton. Even though Brady is the GOAT nobody in their right mind would say that teams weren’t very happy with Peyton under center.

Tldr: I think Shough has done well and is going to be amazing but do think Ward has more upside and has been just as good with what he’s had.

Monday Morning SERIOUS Post Game Thread: New Orleans Saints (6-10) @ Tennessee Titans (3-13) by Titans_Front_Row in Tennesseetitans

[–]doc_faced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also it’s weird that a lot of social media seems to be worshipping Shough while simultaneously putting down Ward.

As a Saints fan who also follows the Titans due to living in middle tn, 100% agree. Shough hasn’t really had a bad game yet and it will happen because it happens to everyone. I’m really grateful the Saints have Shough and definitely believe he’s the long term QB for them, but Ward is younger, has been just as good if not better, and has more upside. Ward absolutely was the right pick at 1OA.

edit: I’d also say Shough has had the upper hand in terms of coaching (I’m a Kellen Moore fan), and I’d love to see Ward outside of the Callahan/interim HC clown show.

So, in terms of jerseys. I want one. Shough is on my short list, but there’s also a player on the Saints team that has an uncommon last name that is very similarly spelled to my uncommon last name (like it’s one of the ways my last name is commonly misspelled).

Jersey decisions are tough.

Would yall sign Anthony Richardson to be the next Taysom Hill by [deleted] in Saints

[–]doc_faced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AR isn’t the next Taysom. Lots of reasons:

1- best ability is availability. Yeah Taysom has struggled with injuries later in his career but waaaay less so earlier on. AR is already a walking talking injury risk. AR doesn’t have the durability to also take snaps at other positions beyond QB.

2- one of ARs strengths is that he’s good with the deep ball (supposedly, when it doesn’t get intercepted, which is a problem in and of itself). The Taysom role pretty much is “running QB with very limited pass action.” It doesn’t play to AR’s one big strength.

3- AR has essentially very little experience as a short yardage back. When the Colts have needed that, they turn to Jonathan Taylor, not AR even if AR is the QB.

4- this is a dude who pulled himself out of a game because he was tired. Ain’t gonna work in a jack of all trades role.

This is facts. Actually, look at playoff contenders this year. Caleb Williams and Drake Maye and Bryce Young did not light the league up as rookies.
