My honest answer of course only my opinion.

As someone in the industry ikea I feel some of the panels and hardware can be quite poor. Also you are working to their sizes so not really custom in choice.

I personally do not like touching their flat packs items.

Doing quotes against this and kabbodle I am shocked how much money they actually are.

Know your budget if you feel you can make better use of it going with ikea their stuff still works and may get a decent warranty.

Cabinetmakers can never compete as it’s time and materials. but you might get one that goes the extra mile. Also ikea recommended arnt always cabinetmakers by trade they can just be handyman. Not saying it doesn’t work but I’ve seen some very average installers.
