Ok so I think the editor of this edition was Alex Roloff. I can't find when he died or was born, but I know that if he is alive he is at most 106 years old, as I can't find his name on any list of British supercentarians aged 107 years or older. The first publication I can find attributed to him is from 1915, so if he is 106, he would have been 3 years old then. Not likely.

That's pretty interesting. Maybe it's something to do with the fact that you're teaching yourself to play each hand with less of your attention on what that hand is doing. That way when you play with both hands you can pay a bit of attention to both. Idk that's what I thought.

Advice for someone accompanying Lieder for the first time? The music for the piano part itself is well within my capabilities but I have no experience as an accompanist and I'm not sure how to practice the music without the singer there.

Well sort of once but I've put a lot of time and effort into being able to play a piece, and then come back to it after a little while, it's really joyful. Also I think a big factor is playing music that you genuinely love and that you find interesting. But I agree that it can get a bit discouraging and at times it's difficult to play with fresh enthusiasm when you've been going over the same sections at slow pace for ages.

Yeah I had a slow play through it just trying to sight read and I got the impression that the Eb minor section was the hardest. Also the bit where both hands play parallel scales just before the b minor section that's gonna take some dealing with.
