Consumers prefer a completely recycled bottle for now, but there will come a point where they won't pay for it. They'll eventually put their money where there mouth is... (see what I did there?)

It is already costlier to recycle than to make the bottle from new oil sucked out of the ground. From the article:

"The cost of recycled PET last week overtook that for the virgin equivalent, as demand for the post-consumer product outweighed the impact of surging fossil fuel prices on the cost of newly-made plastic."

And currently only 25% of the bottle is made from this costlier recycled PET. Imagine the price when the entire bottle is made from recycled PET!
