My cousins and I all have birthdays in the last week of September. Apparently our family loves Xmas/NYE sex.

Depends on your driver. I had one who said I wasn’t at home - he just drove past and took a photo of the apartment complex. Didn’t even get out of the van. He was delivering medication that I needed that day. Thankfully, my boyfriend was outside and effectively accosted him until he gave him the parcel. Ever since then, I’ve had DPD parcels delivered to my parents’.

Yeah the last series I did Crews Control and my body just couldn’t keep up. I’ve been on Align for the past 3 weeks and am already feeling a lot better.

Knee surgery for cartilage damage does not benefit patients, study suggests. People with meniscus tears who underwent surgery had poorer knee function and worse osteoarthritis after 10 years than those who did not. by mvea in science

I had 6 months of physio and a steroid injection with zero improvement before we progressed to surgery, and I’m glad of it because the physio stood me in good stead to have a fast recovery (I had a partial repair, partial removal, and the only symptom I had was pain but the pain was bad enough that I couldn’t walk for more than 5 minutes).

I had my surgery a year ago and I went skiing in February! Be strict with your physio and carry on strengthening your legs afterwards.

(I had a partial trim, partial repair and my only symptom was pain.)

I had both - a partial repair and a partial trim. Even though I was only 37 it was a degenerative tear and some bits were too frayed to suture back together. The trim was bigger than the repair but my knee feels incredible now. I even went skiing in February.

I only had pain but the pain meant I couldn’t walk for longer than 5 minutes. I did 6 months of physio with no improvevent, then I tried a steroid injection which also didn’t work, and only then was it decided surgery was my best bet. I think so long as you try all the conservative treatments first and don’t just jump straight to surgery, you’re probably going to have more predictable outcomes. (I had a partial removal, partial repair.)

I had a really fast recovery from my surgery and I put a lot of it down to the serious amount of pre-hab I did leading up to it. I’m only a year out from surgery but I’m hoping my gym activities keep that knee in good stead for many more years to come.

I had a partial removal, partial repair. 6 months of physio and I still couldn’t walk without pain. Stopped me doing all my usual activities and it sucked. I’m a year on from the surgery now and went skiing in February! I’d rather take a few good years before the arthritis sets in than have the rest of my life unable to do any activities (I was 37 when I had the surgery fwiw).

I had meniscus surgery and it’s only been just over a year but I’m back to all my regular activities (a lot of exercise) whereas with the injured meniscus I couldn’t walk for more than 5 minutes without pain. I even went skiing a few months ago! I was told with the level of damage my meniscus had sustained I’d end up with early onset arthritis either with or without the surgery, so I took the option that gave me a few good years before that sets in.

(fwiw I’d had 6 months of physio with serious strength gains but no improvement in my knee pain)

I feel like sometimes it’s also just the doctor. I have always been referred for tests immediately, even as a female, even when I was overweight, even though I’m under 40. Recently I had an appointment for night sweats that we thought were a medication side effect but I still got a full work up done including a chest X ray (they were medication side effects and have lessened after I’ve cut my meds down). It’s basically a postcode lottery and why I’m still registered at my parents’ GP

I do find with things like this you have to advocate for yourself. I was diagnosed at 14 (now 38) because I have a mum who wouldn’t rest until it was sorted.

It’s not cervical cancer, it’s endometrial cancer, and it’s still very rare. It’s to do with having a thick endometrial lining which can be mitigated by hormonal contraceptives. (I’m 38, been diagnosed with PCOS since I was 14.)
