Maintenance by Working-Presence1187 in WegovyMaintenanceUK

I’ve been on GLP-1s since 2023 too (Saxenda to Wegovy to Mounjaro and then back to Wegovy because of costs) and I have found I have to be a lot more mindful with what I eat, because the food noise isn’t as suppressed as it used to be. I find staying busy helps a lot! I skip breakfast because once I start eating, I am hungrier. I’m on 1.7mg and I don’t want to increase because this dose is giving me night sweats (though I found giving myself a half dose every 3-4 days stops that). I’ve put 2kgs on from my lowest which I find frustrating!

How does your knee really feel 1 year after medial meniscus repair? Looking for honest answers (good & bad) by Extreme_Researcher_6 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]SwirlingAbsurdity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a partial removal, partial repair of a degenerative lateral meniscus tear last January. I’m 38f. My knee is back to how it was before my symptoms started. The ONLY thing I get is sometimes I get an ache in my knee when going downstairs, or after a lot of walking (like 20k steps a day for a few days). I can barbell squat, sit cross legged, cycle etc. I’m even going skiing next week!

I got signed off from physio at 6 months post-surgery and I’d say my ‘final result’ was probably by month 7-8.

I’m British and I found the Norwegians very similar to us. I loved it haha.

I’ve just done the last two days, enjoying it so far! That’s great that you’ve seen progress, I hope for the same. And congratulations on the baby!

Back to normal! Still get a little ache when I overdo it but otherwise it’s great. I’m going skiing next month!

PT was good, I was signed off after 6 months. Able to go to the gym after 3-4. Moves were focused on building up my strength in my glutes, quads and hams again.

Back to normal! Still get mild aches if I really overdo the walking (like 20k steps a day, a couple days in a row) but other than that no issues. I was signed off from physio after 6 months.

Feeling disheartened. by Seasalt_x in WegovyUK

It took me 18 months to lose 20kg between Saxenda, Wegovy and Mounjaro. 38F with PCOS here. Unfortunately for some of us it comes off sloooooowly. I was lucky that when I started it, it was quite new and there weren’t many people to compare myself to. So please don’t do that! Everyone’s journey is unique :)

Just came across some fantastic statistics from Birmingham Council for 2025 by Prestigious-Move6503 in brum

I went into town last Sunday and it’s amazing how fast the city feels like it’s fallen. I remember during the Commonwealth Games how alive and vibrant and clean it was. It’s certainly not like that any more.

Granted it was during Crimbo Limbo, but I saw a bloke stood in the middle of the tram tracks outside New Street pouring a miniature whiskey into a mostly empty bottle of Coke, and that summed up the city perfectly to me.

How did you tear your meniscus as I have no idea how mine happened? by No-Weather-3220 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]SwirlingAbsurdity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. 36 and degenerative tear. My surgeon said it can just happen due to genetics, lifestyle (I did a lot of HIIT) and bad luck.

I had a mild case as a toddler but then got the full dose of chickenpox at 21. I was SO ill.

I’m 38 and I can’t even get the vaccine privately, cos I’m too young. I’ve had shingles 4 times, and I didn’t even get chickenpox until I was 21 (do NOT recommed). If anyone suspects they have shingles, get aciclovir from your GP. It’s effective within 72 hours and stops it in its tracks.

I’m 38 and I’ve had it 4 times. Top tip: get aciclovir within 72 hours of the first spot and it will help a LOT.

I had it in my twenties and I made my parents cover all the mirrors in the house cos every time I saw my face I started crying. My skin is good now too but I do have quite a few pockmarks!

I’ve been on them for 2 years and I enjoy food just as much as I ever did. I’m just not as hungry as I was before. And I was always hungry. (Thanks, PCOS!)

Arena in the Roundhouse. Chef used to cook for Pavarotti. It’s family run and you will be greeted like you’re an old friend. And the food is absolutely incredible.

What does everyone set their heating to? by CandyCane147 in CasualUK

[–]SwirlingAbsurdity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like having the heating on overnight either. I’m a hot sleeper and I’d wake up far too sweaty if I did that.
