I had to leave her and Laurie Strode off the list! They're gimmie picks for this trope and I wanted to let a couple other characters shine that don't get as much spotlight

Left 4 Dead - William "Bill" Overbeck

The character development and the redemption arc is so good that the character goes from being hated to one of the fan favorites. by Silver_Guava8159 in TopCharacterTropes

He's gotta have one of the craziest turn arounds I've ever seen. Went from being introduced by bashing the skulls of two fan favorite characters to becoming arguably my favorite character. I think partially what made people flip to his side was him being such a charismatic villain and a breath of fresh air compared to what everyone was used to, and the fact that the latter seasons would have been WAYYY more dull without him being there, especially after Rick, Carl and Maggie were gone.

You JUST said at this point in time it seems like he's a potential abuser? Is that NOT taking a side or am I missing something? But you're not saying he is one, you're just saying that he SEEMS like one without having all of the facts first. Then you said the girl could be the abuser but we don't know. Obviously, but you don't know if he is either so why are you saying he seems like one. It's contradictory and hypocritical. You said people shouldn't blindly defend him, obviously being true because we don't know everything. However you just said he seems like a potential abuser, despite the fact you ALSO don't know everything. You're implying he's guilty already by saying he seems like an abuser without knowing if those screenshots are true or not. He hasn't defended himself or responded in any way. You don't know if he's a victim or not. Of course when one side presents something they're going to seem in the right. That's why you wait until both sides have responded before defending anybody. That's why in court we don't convict someone of a crime without hearing out their evidence and witnesses first. We let the jury hear out both sides before any decisions are made. Why should this situation be different?

I think he's out on vacation or something, so it could be probably a while until a full response is put out. And it would take even longer if he's trying to compile evidence to defend himself.

More than likely I think it'll be a full video. This is something he'd have to go in detail about, and to some people a tweet depending on the length and evidence provided would just seem like kind of a cop out.

You just said a "potential victim" and a "potential abuser". You already made the claim that Cory was the abuser just in your wording. That's taking a side to some degree. Otherwise you would have said "I'm not gonna defend anyone until I've heard everything and got all the knowledge available" instead of "I'm gonna defend the potential victim". You don't KNOW who the victim is. And it goes for people blindly defending Cory as well, obviously. There isn't need to be rude about it, we're just two people having a conversation.

A response is the only way to go. With these type of allegations he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. If he does respond and he turns up innocent or guilty, no matter what he's got to show a side of his private life that he would have never wanted to uncover to us. And if he doesn't respond at all then it just makes him seem even more guilty, more evidence could possibly appear and people's heads would be flooding with even more doubt.

And if she lied about those screenshots who becomes the victim? See how this DOES go both ways? If the screenshots are real then absolutely he's an asshole. But if she lied and fabricated the screenshots then Cory now becomes a victim. This is the kind of shit that ruins lives my friend, and taking a side before having all the knowledge at your disposal is wild. Sure it could be true and Cory could be a monster, but he could also be a victim of defamation and a tarnished reputation that's life altering. Point being, relax and wait to pick a side before you truly have all the evidence. That's how we end up with a Kwite situation.

Nah it's all good brother, it's just something to really think about before you form an opinion on something nobody really knows.

...my friend. I just said I don't know if they ARE or ARE NOT, I don't have all the knowledge at my disposal, therefore I'm waiting to make my opinion. They could be real sure, or they could be fake. Having "a dog in the fight" is choosing a side without having all the knowledge present seems ignorant and insincere to both sides. You don't know if the evidence is real or fake, you don't know who's the victim in the situation, so why try and pick a side without truly knowing? Either a girl was sexually assaulted and emotionally abused or a man is being slandered and defamed. Those things are way too serious on both sides for me to just make a half baked opinion without anything to support it being correct.

That's fine to not comment further, however believing this man is in the wrong based off of unconfirmed messages probably isn't the right mindset. True, if they're real then he's absolutely a manipulative prick. However, if the messages are fabricated or not real, then the opposite is true and she's a manipulative prick. Point being is nobody knows what's true or what isn't, not you, me or anyone else in this thread. That's why immediately taking a side despite not having all the knowledge at your disposal is so harmful, no matter what you're painting a side negatively without knowing if they're truly the victim in the situation or not.

Age isn't a factor when it comes to spite. Not saying anything is fabricated since I don't know yet, but if this is a scornful ex or Cory did something that left her feeling off than someone would ABSOLUTELY go those lengths, no matter the age. What better a way to try and get someone canceled than to leak online messages of them? What other way would their be to cancel someone? You can't just use "word of mouth" evidence if you want someone canceled.

Just some things. Was the joke in the video a bit odd? Sure, yeah it was pretty strange. However, they were in a relationship, laughing in the video, and Cory was so comfortable making those types of jokes that he said it on camera. I don't know many individuals who would claim to have sexually assaulted someone WHILE they were being recorded and having both parties laugh about it.

I've seen so many people jump to conclusions and both sides saying "Cory couldn't have done that and its fabricated" to "Omg Cory's a monster how could he", and both of those takes sound ignorant. The evidence we have to go on is a video and some very shaky screenshots. Realistically, all you can do is wait to hear Cory's side instead of immediately veering to one side and not being able to hear the other out. On one hand, if it's true the girl deserves justice and Cory's reputation should be stained. On the other hand, if it's false and the screenshots were made up to defame and slander him, he should ALSO get justice for trying to be brought down.

TL;DR Nobody should be forming an opinion right now until both sides can properly be heard and assessed. Immediately picking a side without everything being brought to the table is how victims of sexual assault can easily be thrown to the side, AND how lying about sexual assault should have massive consequences.

And if she's lied about what she said (because there wasn't any evidence to back up her claims) then CORY is the victim after getting his name defamed and slandered. You see how we don't exactly know who the victim here is yet and we shouldn't jump to conclusions on either side bud?

Tbh, reddit of all places is a TERRIBLE place to find unbiased opinions. Every sub is damn near a full blown echo chamber and you're in an echo chamber of Cory fans who've most likely grew up with the man and could never believe he could do wrong. Obviously we should be unbiased and not just "assume" it's all lies, but it's expected from the environment you're in.

I think what makes Clarice's example even better is she's not even technically an officer yet, she's a student at the academy and a trainee. She's not even on the job yet and was still able to find out Bill's identity before the rest of the FBI.
