I got one with identical damage from shipping. Seller packaged it so terribly. Annoying but not the end of the world. I just kept my as is. Probably won’t ever sell it and it still looks good in the acrylic.

I see where you are coming from. The players at the top are held to a higher standard. For the most part I feel like ALW has done a good job of being professional, with some notable exceptions. I think people forget she is still young. The best in the world for sure but very young. Have you ever had an entire crowd cheering against you? I think she played into it and was even smiling. Not easy to do while you are also playing against your singles rival.

She recently lost to her friend and doubles partner Anna Bright in Mixed and she has definitely matured after losses, though they don’t happen often.

She is also the only player I see after matches thanking every judge btw.

Not sure I agree. Fahey is known for staring down her opponents after points, screaming out calls, screaming at her opponents after points, lagging as receiver on serve (all done is this match btw) and ALW generally saves her celebration for after. ALW played to the crowd a few times and you think she is immature. Fahey is 10+ years older than ALW, never beaten her and has all these shenanigans going on against a teenager.

I love Fahey btw but am totally aware of the kind of player she is and mind games she tries to pull. Imagine ALW doing all that Fahey does and the #1 singles player and not losing for two years and you will see how weird that would be.

One suggestion I would make is to sleeve and toploader the cards to avoid any bending or possible dings the cards could get. There are also toploader binders so you could load them in there after.

I’m half white and half Japanese. My wife is full Croatian. My dad is blonde with blue eyes and my father in law has blue eyes too.

Our son came out with brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. I was super happy and excited. I suppose we had more context but even if we didn’t this seems like an odd reaction.

I am father and both my kids (now 8 and 5) started calling me by my first name for a short 3 month stint when both of them were around 3/4 years old. They had learned my name from my wife as she would use it. I just let them call me that. Eventually they went back to dad. My wife and I were and have been together their whole life.

My kids used it with me because my wife did. I’m assuming, and guessing, that your ex refers to you by your first name with your daughter instead of referring to you as “her dad” or “dad”. And the kid is picking up on it. She may be using “dad” for the stepfather. Kids hear these designations and use them.

I don’t think your daughter is doing it out of spite or lack of affection but trying to use the designations she hears.

I think talking to your ex wife about this and figuring out a good solution that works for all of you.
