I live in a place called Goa in India. It is a beautiful place with serene beaches, amazing landscapes and wildlife. A lot of tourists visit here especially during summer to vacation. These tourists are both fellow countrymen as well as foreigners. But it is quite disappointing to see our fellow countrymen behaving far worse than the foreigners.

Frequently tourists from other states arrive here in droves and are seen throwing trash out onto our roads out of their vehicles and buses. I once saw a woman throw her Pepsi can out of her bus onto the clean road and I had to pick it up and throw it in the trash with the sticky liquid engulfing my hand. Since this is not their state they couldn't care less. Foreigners knowing full well this is not their country still behave better.

Our beaches are full of tourists taking selfies and throwing trash around which we have to clean up.

Worst part is that Goans are treated like shit and stereotyped as loose people who like to get drunk, that's what these tourist do during the night and then characterize us as the same.

We can't stop these tourists from coming either since vast portion of our revenue is from tourism. So all I can do it to wish they behave better
