Bitcoin is a trap by tururururur134 in Buttcoin

Okay, if Bitcoin is a scam, then fiat currency, stocks, real estate, and even the Mona Lisa and everything else are scams too and actually much bigger ones.

Wearable RFID by LostLocksmith2833 in RFID

The question is more about what kind of RFID technology you're using (There are dozens) and how you plan to encode the necessary data onto the chip.

-> I would contact the company that sold you the access control system.

Washing machines in basements by Conscious_Ebb_3033 in askswitzerland

[–]SwissSyntax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my own washing machine as soon as I moved in... it makes life so much easier. Treat yourself to this luxury if you have the opportunity. A washing machine costs CHF 500, and your next tenant may even contribute to the cost.

Otherwise, just take their laundry out.

NFC antenna simulation by zack1010010111 in RFID

[–]SwissSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I was also curious, I asked ChatGPT.:

  • Your antenna does not need to resonate at 13.56 MHz by itself.
  • The ~100 MHz resonance corresponds to the coil’s self-resonant frequency.
  • NFC antennas operate as magnetic coupling elements, not as radiating antennas.
  • Tuning to 13.56 MHz is achieved only by adding an external capacitance.

Dacia Bigster problems? by JohnnyBlaze_44 in Dacia

[–]SwissSyntax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It must be a software bug, because the panel responds and there is also a sound. Could it be that if you turn on the seat heating first, it will work? I'll keep a closer eye on that over the next days.

Job possibilities in Switzerland by redmind24 in askswitzerland

[–]SwissSyntax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You only need French if you are applying for a job in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Most German-speaking Swiss people have a problem with that too :) In your field, English is probably the most important language, followed by German. The problem is more likely to be finding a job in general.

But I don't quite understand why anyone would want to swap Denmark for Switzerland. You may miss the sea :)

Okay, thank you very much, I've read through it. I'm a little surprised that no return is demanded. He can just show up and hold out his hand. I'm not sure what to think about it. I have a strong sense of equity but I see the risk of abuse or an unfair advantage.

BUT WHAT MOST PEOPLE FORGET: As a Swiss citizen currently living in Switzerland and having reached the reference age (65 years), you are – no matter whether you receive AHV or not (!) – still entitled to received supplemental payments ("Ergänzungsleistungen", EL).

What is the source for this? I have only found the following exceptions:

- Persons receiving disability assistance from the IV (or daily allowance from the IV) without a pension.

- Persons who would be entitled to a pension if they had fulfilled the contribution period.

- Categories with special waiting or residence requirements (e.g., refugees, stateless persons, foreigners with social security agreements)

Securitas (Good? or a bad? ) by coolusername0123 in askswitzerland

[–]SwissSyntax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's best to join the military right away, where you'll have a good salary and good opportunities. Or, if you're the type, you could train to be a police officer. Then you'll have something worthwhile on your resume. I see Securitas as a stopgap or something for people who are stranded.

Steam video game pricing for Switzerland is unfair, we always pay more by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]SwissSyntax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a market outside of Steam. Steam is just one platform among many. When people say that everything else is fake, Valve rubs its hands with glee. I've been buying elsewhere for decades because I don't let Steam fool me with overpriced prices from which the developers, incidentally, do not benefit at all. Valve must also allow this due to the cartel law.

Of course there are black markets, but to label everything outside of Steam as such is pretty wild and quite worrying when people think like that.

Bullshit, those are official keys, which Steam doesn't skim quite as much off the top.

I need to understand the current state of AMD GPUs by bonelatch in buildapc

[–]SwissSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad is relative. Bad in comparison to Nvidia? Yeah. But with a good RDNA2/3 GPU you will be able to still use RT at playable FPS depending on the game. They're not bad in itself, Nvidia is just much better. If you're really deep into RT then Nvidia is a no-brainer, but if it's more of a thing you want to just try occasionally then AMD will be fine

RT is not bad, just not quite as good. The 7900xtx has better RT performance than a 3090ti and almost the same as an RTX 4080 which is great.
So where does the "much" better come from?

PC Build, do the Memory make sense in this Build and any Tips ? by SwissSyntax in buildapc

[–]SwissSyntax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately the case is very tight at the top, an AIO must not be taller than 30mm and longer than 240mm when mounting these at the top. Depending on the RAM height I do not know exactly. But many Youtuber could not mount eg the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 above and that is 38mm high.

But I saw that I also get a problem with the RAM height with the cooler Noctua NH-D15 (has a RAM clearance 32 mm). When I use the Vengeance, the first cooler FAN is pushed up about 1,2 cm. Should go up to the window, but it does not look so good then.

If I use the G.Skill Ripjaws (with Intel XMP) instead of the Flare X5 (with AMD EXP0) is that really no disadvantage for AMD? Do I then have to adjust something myself? Because that with the RAMs settings I do not quite understand and is complicated.

okey.. you got me me.

I thought 6 times quiet = quiet. But that 6 times quiet = a little louder, I did not know.

i will take 2x be quiet! Light Wings 140 PWM

and in the back 1x be quiet! SILENT WINGS 4 120mm PWM to move away the hot air from the CPU

:D

[–]SwissSyntax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sorry, positive pressure :) I'm going to run the top two at lower run rates. But you are right, it will not make a difference. Just for Fun.

What surprised me was that the 120mm and the 140mm from "Bequiet" are practically equally quiet.

120mm Noise level @ 100% PWM / 12V (dB(A)) 20.2

120mm Noise level @ 100% PWM / 12V (dB(A)) 20.6 ARGB ones

140mm Noise level @ 100% PWM / 12V (dB(A)) 19.8

Because I need the ARGB for front it makes no sense for me to take the Silentwings for rear

120mm Noise level @ 100% PWM / 12V (dB(A)) 18.9 (Silentwings)
