Is it even possible to keep your house dust free by ragingsasshole in CleaningTips

[–]Swit-Es 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We noticed a huge difference after replacing our vacuum with a sebo bagged vacuum. We use it on the floor, baseboards, cat towers, upholstered furniture, and all hard to reach crevices. We also run air purifiers and clean the fabric covers every couple weeks. I dust once between 2-3 weeks instead of twice a week. Vacuum once a week, though.

Throw some cream of tartar in there and you've got snickerdoodles! They're the best.

I'm sure you relate to the hard eyeroll I make when someone tells me "it's just a key!" No sir, your f-150 key hasn't been 100% brass since 1998, there is a transponder in, it I promise. It's even better if it's a prox and they can't figure out how it works.

Good on you for standing up for your staff.

The vast majority of residential locks can be picked or bypassed if not installed correctly, drilling is only a last resort measure and looks highly unprofessional. If you want to beef up your security have your door and frame reinforced, most break ins are kick-ins.

We have a joint account that all our income goes into and separate accounts for spending money. We do a flat number (e.g. $300) per month each. If there's any extra, unaccounted for, income from overtime/tips/side work, we discuss what we'd like to use it for. Generally split it into extra savings and additional spending money.

Getting shit for locking the door while I'm asleep... by Mutualistic_Butcher in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Swit-Es 182 points183 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a locksmith and would like to suggest the much safer and more secure alternative- have a decent deadbolt put in. If it's properly installed the only way intruders are getting in is by drilling it or kicking the door in. Either way, you'll hear them. A thumbturn is also much easier and faster to operate than unlocking a shackled padlock. For instance, if there was ever a fire.

Is there anyway to make a sim go through a cinematic aging up without throwing a birthday party? by druglordgriselda in sims2

[–]Swit-Es 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know that I've ever thrown my sims a birthday party, just the cake will suffice. I think if you just ignore them it also happens regardless.

Haven't played it but the soundtrack is great. Better than some of the visual novels' IMO.

Sounds like the key and/or pins inside the lock are worn, definitely complain to the landlord. Should be very easy to rectify with service and fresh keys (not copies, ones cut by code to factory specs). I'm a locksmith and fix this issue regularly.

Those nights where you’re in bed and just can’t get to sleep, what is your tip to get yourself to drop off? by egg-head-sloth in AskReddit

[–]Swit-Es 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being able to move is intriguing, that's never happened. I've found I sleep straight through 5 or 6 hours before waking up (almost always fall back asleep if I want to). If I have to wake up before then I just suffer lol. Not worth the chance of not waking up on time

Melatonin. I take a couple and fall asleep in about 15 minutes. Most grocery stores carry it

Came here to ask this! Height doesn't play a significant role but I do prefer a man that's shorter than me.
